Coming Soon To a Red State Near You

From MSNBC:

‘The bounty hunting bill:’ Texas law gives citizens up to $10,000 to help enforce abortion ban

From USA Today:

After Texas six-week abortion ban, I'm done compromising with anti-choice extremists Let’s call it what it is: This is an assault on women, their bodies, their decision-making, their freedom and their autonomy. This is Gilead.

From CBS News:

Texas abortion ban turns citizens into "bounty hunters"

From this day forward, if you live in the State of Gilead and are seeking a certain safe, legal, constitutionally-protected medical procedure...

I am truly surprised that Texas Taliban GOP did not write in the law that " NO pregnant female will be allowed to leave the state of Texas" For fear of having an abortion done out of state.

I guess that first Amendment thingy about freedom of religion are just words of faint past gone by.

You had to know it was coming. Think about it.
GOP lost the house, the Senate and the White House.

This is to rile up their base some more and if it doesn't. They have their voting suppression laws for insurance.

Wealthy and corporate want their pets back in charge to reinstate the oligarchy.

Good morning, Mr. Glass.

To reference an old Pro Left Podcast: "Snatchminders: Mind the Snatch."

Best to you and your loved ones.

Sadly, any spec-fiction dystopia actually pales in comparison to the IRL experience, unless you are sufficiently insulated from the effects and lack any sort of empathy. Social gains are fleeting here in Opposite World. The Langoliers are always coming.

Well we can all thank Susan Collins for her support.

"Collins weighed in on the decision Thursday, calling the Supreme Court decision "extreme and harmful."

She joined a host of high-profile Democrats, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and President Joe Biden, in their criticism of the measure."

Prior to that when Brett Kavanaugh was up for the SCOTUS she ASSURED us all he wouldn't do this. Even called us dumb libs who criticized her for putting abortion rights at risk "gullible" and "naive."
She went on TV several times on the record and guaranteed us all that Kavanaugh would not overturn Roe v. Wade.

That might all be outside the "protected history" window though. Not sure.

Perhaps Texas might have been wise to try and do something about its third-world level maternal mortality rate before forcing a large number of poor women to give birth there against their will.
