CNN’s Stelter Sounds the Alarm on Pro-Trump Media ‘Radicalization’: ‘It’s Way Past Time to Talk About This Honestly’

CNN’s Brian Stelter warned that President Donald Trump and conservative media outlets are facilitating a “radicalization” of Americans, which could have dire consequences for the country.

On Sunday, Stelter led Reliable Sources by saying pro-Trump media is permeating “radicalization” around the country by giving air to election-denialism, talks of secession, and calls for a post-election uprising. As Stelter warned of the consequences for when people latch onto conspiracy theories, he lamented the use of the word “radicalization,” but said “it’s way past time to talk about this honestly.”

“No one should tip-toe past this predicament,” he said...

For all I know this may have boomed down the halls of CNN like Henry V's  St Crispin's Day speech, but for those of us whose checks are not signed by Jeff Zucker, this was worse than comical.   This is raising the alarm for an escaped horse that long ago left the barn and then died and whose bleached bones were subsequently used as a subject by Georgia O'Keeffe.  

Also the barn from which the long-dead horse escaped burned down and the land was sold to developers who built a strip mall which has since gone bust.

But of course the "legitimate" press could never take up the escalating madness of the Republican Party and the propaganda engine that feeds for the simple reason that once you start tugging on that Accountability Thread, there is a very real danger that the "legitimate" press -- who have been deeply, institutionally complicit in the rise of the Insane Right -- might suddenly unravel to the point where untold hundreds of otherwise-unemployable Chris Cillizzae and David Brookses and Joe Scarboroughs and Brian Williamses would find themselves Halperined:  cast out with no clout and no means of sustaining the lifestyles to which they have become accustomed.

And that would never do.  

No Half Measures
