Wow. It's almost as if, when you spend decades creating a nationwide network of hate-based propaganda clearing-houses, thinly disguised as news programs, churches and talk radio stations; and when millions of US citizens spend decades taking in the vomitous output of those propaganda outlets, internalizing it, and using it as justification to ac on their worst impulses... it's almost as if, when you do all these things, bad stuff happens.
Who'd a thunk? I mean, nobody could have seen that coming, right?

I've read more than a few political pundits and social scientists who try to explain the mindless insanity of the core right winger. They mention income inequality, loss of middle class jobs and manufacturing, the changing demographics and other valid but shallow reasons. They never mention the decades long skull fucking the midwest and south was getting from the insular political media diet of far right wing assholes and Fox news. I don't think there's any other meaningful reason for why republicans have gone ass over tea kettle.
One thing is for sure,
We do not have enough Sanitariums for the mentally insane.
