David Brooks: Siri, I need some words or phrases to describe "Republicanism" without using or suggesting the word "Republican".
Siri: Again? Really? Isn't this the (checks digital notes) eightieth time you've asked me for this?
Brooks: I know. Just one more time. And I'm on deadline so whatever you've got and quickly.
Siri: Do you have sample of the text that requires this substitution?
Brooks: "For Republicans, the most important thing you can know about a person is his or her race. A white sees the world as a white and a Latino sees it as a Latino. Identity is racial."
Siri: Records show you haven't used the words "separatism". "racial Darwinism", "essentialism" or "antipluralism" as a substitute for "Republicanism". Would you like to use any of these?
Brooks: Thanks. I'll use them all!
Siri (sighs): Will there be anything else?
Brooks: I also need some positive words or phrases to describe "Democrats" without using or suggesting the word "Democrats".
Siri (sighs): As a point of information, why can't you just say "Democrats"?
Brooks (peeved): If you must know, I'm going to include myself in the "Good People" group and I can't very well do that if I just come out and say "Democrats", now can I?
Siri: Records show you haven't used the words "pluralist" as a substitute for "Democrats".
Brooks: Thanks.

Second, it is now painfully clear that Mr. Brooks is engaged in a long-term project to completely rewrite the history of American Conservatism: to flense it of all of the Conservative social, political economic and foreign policy debacles that make Mr. Brooks wince and repackage the whole era as a fairy tale of noble Whigs being led through treacherous hippie country by the humble David Brooks.Spoiler: He's getting away with it.

David Brooks is among the most intelligent journalist with a conscience. I did not know he was capable of humor. Now I know!
The rethugucans have striped off their clothes and are running down the road naked screaming nah, nah, nah, and DFB says he's a pluralist butt whistle. Yep, things is just as normal as can be. The thing that is DFB is the blob covered in skin spewing what he thinks are shinny words that add up to 800 and bingo he's mingling with the aspen trees explaining the meanings of their existence in another 800 word like goo. And getting paid for it.
Idiotic, stupid, insipid, and DFB walk into a bar...I would have added limp dick but that would be an insult to limp dicks everywhere.

All of the media knee jerked intothe defense of the FOX. Keep it a official legitimate entity of news. As they questioned his birth certificate to his 20 years of eating pork while attending a baptist church to fool Americans he was not a secret Muslim here to destroy Apple pie and baseball.
The FOX was defended and protected by the rest of the media employees and Obama decided to allow the FOX;s legitimacy.
By doing this, FOX spread that legitimacy to Breitbart,, Storm pooper front and every flat Earth moon landing is a fake group. And here we are.
With Trump-panzee fake news and reversing news roles to the flatulence of the right wing media.
When I write a book on it, you can read why it was a big mistake.
All media workers wanted the insurance to employment in the industry in case they failed at journalism and reporting.
They could always get a gig at the FOX or similar. It wasn't about professionalism or providing which prescribed of the press in the first Amendment. It was about a landing zone for failure and down right sizing. Which was reported as economically necessary for all other careers but their own.
As we all see FOX's role in Government today. is corporate revision of our very constitution. it's profits over ride the constitution. A version of capitalism where the profits of gun sales. From bullets to ambulances and funerals that feeds an economy is an intricate part to invest in.
