My local NPR station just came Dangerously Close to reporting in unequivocal language that:
- Both sides are not equally wrong or biased.
- For a disturbingly large number of Americans -- mostly Conservative Americans -- facts just don't fucking matter.
- Reflexively saying "both side do it" every time a Conservative gets caught in the alley pistol-whipping the truth is, y'know, a bad thing.
- That big-megaphone members of the "media elite" are by far the ones doing the most damage.
Man, Da Mare says he's leaving and the whole world comes off its axis.
But then, what can you expect for an organization that is clearly in the pocket of the Kenyan Usurper and his Chicago union goons?

I heard that too. Fascinating stuff and it jibed with the stuff I learned in political psychology about cognitive pathways: once they get ossified, it's very difficult if not impossible for new ideas to seep in.
How to combat this, short of disenfranchising half of the American public, is the question. Any ideas?
The ones who cannot change should be written off as a cultural dead-loss.
The ones who enable them, equivocate about them and cultivate them need to be gone after loudly, relentlessly and in public.
But sad truth is, as long as there is a buck to be made or a vote to be gained by pandering and lying to these people -- and as long as there are no consequences to that lying and pandering -- the problem will continue getting worse.
