"Hatred is not the norm. Prejudice is not the norm. Suspicion, dislike, jealousy, scapegoating — none of those are the transcendent facet of the human personality. They’re diseases. They are the cancers of the soul." -- Dick Van Dyke's reading of a speech written for him by Rod Serling

Every Republican ever is the Mystery Date "Dud."
Toilet Piranhas is the name of my GWAR/G.G. Allin cover band.
I saw a video of Paul Krugman and Heather Cox Richardson in conversation and they raised the point that's killing us on healthcare (and other issues): They (like BlueGal on the ACA and all of us on politics) are well versed in their particular fields, and asked each other how best to share that knowledge with the people who so desperately need it.
I mean, I'm nobody special when it comes to civics and policy, but if the mean level of understanding of the workings of our government and our society were brought up to even my level of stupid, three quarters of the problems we talk about would vanish. And to be clear, not my level of partisanship (although I feel like that would also help) but just my simple understanding of how the three branches actually work and what that means to your average citizen.
That, however, ain't gonna happen.
Looks like Fergus had a bad week. Hope he has another. And another after that. Enough bad weeks for him and pretty soon the end of his term comes into focus and all of those goddamn Republicans suddenly have more important things than his dick to pay attention to. Which may or may not be a good thing in itself, but either way, this shit just needs to stop.
Thank you again for the podcast. Our friend Rob has discovered a family of feral cats at the property we are about to move to, and I'll see if I can get a picture or two of them for you.
Or perhaps the foxes or the bear, although they aren't pets and we will not, in fact, be feeding them any fox or bear food, freshly poured or otherwise.
