“Do you think politics is only about winning the argument? That whoever has the right fact at the right moment wins? Clinton had facts. Kennedy had facts, yeah. But Reagan? He couldn’t have summoned a fact if his life depended on it.” -- Theresa D’Agostino, The Wire

Exceptional episode! I do love roasting David Broder.
Speaking of awful losers from the Repub party, how about an opinion piece on THIS bit of insanity?
"National Archives Head Resigns as Trump Takes Control of Records

Yeah, the Cyborg taking over the US' records...
OK, Briana, who is a poet, wants to compliment Driftglass on his use of the English language.
I take my swearing (fairly) seriously. My major influences are Hunter S. Thompson, the bikers I grew up around, the Rude Pundit, my coworkers at various jobs (particularly the restaurant crews, they really know how to swear) and a few actual sailors.
Strong language is not only called for in situations like this, but serves to identify one's speech as what it is in a sea of mealy-mouthed mush that is getting more and more disgusting by the minute.
Thank you again for the podcast. The cat would like to offer his services in resolving our little muskrat problem. His resume includes the elimination of the big-ass rats in the neighbor's woodpile in Richmond (although it should be noted that he did leave the corpses on the doormat) He says the negotiations should begin with an unspecified number of Nulo lickable treats...
