The SyFy Channel combined "Dune Messiah" and "Children of Dune" into a single mini-series back in 2003--with a young James McAvoy as Paul Atreides' son Leto. It obviously didn't have a huge budget, the special effects look dated, and some of the costumes were over-the-top but they did at least stay somewhat faithful to the story.

I have the series on DVD and despite its shortcomings, it holds up fairly well. One thing I do like about the series is they fleshed out the character of Irulan a lot more (I thought the character was fairly 2-dimensional in the books) and Julie Cox--despite not looking like the description in the book--does a great job in the role.

Confession from my memory.

As I voted against Ronald Reagan and he won in large number. I was supposed to feel sapid for being such a minority loser.

In the end, Reagan justified my vote to be righteous.

Especially the now confessed deal with Iran to hold the hostages to help Reagan win. And his Iran-Contra.

I note; republicans like Roger Stone existed even then.
