OK, here's this from Beks @antifaoperative at 11:07AM.1/5/22:
"This is your reminder that Merrick Garland's investigation of Timothy McVeigh, Terry Nichols and the Unabomber had zero leaks before indictments, 100% convictions and no turnovers on appeal. Sometimes you have to have a little faith in the process. Happy Wednesday."
On a good day, I can muster some of that faith, and god damn if it is not the very thing those bastards are attacking the hardest, so I don't feel too bad about the attention I have to pay in its service.
In other words, yes, I know he's capable, that's never been in question, and I believe he is very aware that the whole thing is likely to be dropped into DOJ's lap by the mid-terms.
John Dean seems to think he has it covered, for whatever that's worth.
Happy podcast anniversary. Back in 2010 I was living in an artists collective in West Oakland and had my computer connected to my ridiculously oversized surround sound PA system (think 5 15 inch speakers, 5 12 inch speakers, various tweeters and high-end drivers all pushed by several hundred righteous watts of old school amplifier power) and on Sundays everyone in the place could hear the podcast, if they wanted to. I wasn't the only one there with big amplifiers.
All that stuff is long gone now, and Briana and myself listen (on Saturdays now) through the tiny-ass little speakers in this here Toshiba laptop.
I read the Davis/Miller thing, and found that Miller's husband has a three percenter decal on the truck he drove to the goddamn insurrection. No-one is being coy about the fascism here.
Local news? Kermit Jones. That would be Dr. Kermit Jones, the African American Navy vet who's running against the execrable Tom McClintock. Mr. McClintock sent me an email the other day, and I took the time to reply to it that Mr. Jones has my vote.
Thank you again for the podcast. Four feet of snow is a bit more than I can hobble through, so I'm confined to this room for a while, but Zsuzs dug the Subaru out of the snow bank and we aren't playing Instacart-roulette for our groceries any more...
