Blue Gal and Driftglass, this is, for our current reality and the entire podcast 57:32 minutes, one of your best podcasts.
As you pointed out the news media has been atrocious since the withdrawal began. It is unwatchable. The only moment was Lawrence O'donnell last night. He spoke to the fact that NO army in history has ever had a more successful withdrawal from a country they had invaded. He also chided the news media at large for the terrible screeching over reaction to the unfolding withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Thank you for reminding people, again, that 9/11 was in fact a crime that required police action not a military invasion. From a country that at the time had basically stuck their tongue out at us. But had no involvement in the 9/11 crime perpetrated by stateless actors.
Again, congratulations on a excellent podcast.

Briana had some car trouble this week also, while she was down in the East Bay trying to gather resources to work on the property in Humboldt County that's in her family and hopefully will soon be hers.
We bought the car in late 2015 for $500 from our friend Rob who works in a wrecking yard. It's a '92 Mercedes 190e, and after we put a radiator and a head gasket in it, it has been a good car.
It is, however, 29 years old now, and all of the rubber is beginning to deteriorate, and should be straight up replaced if it can be found. And so it was that when Briana finally got Rob to look at it, he discovered a piece of U-shaped fuel line with a long crack in it, and gave it to our computer wizard friend who shrink wrapped it with industrial grade heat shrink, and it is sitting in its parking space across the road from here right now.
Afghanistan? Shit, in 2001 my congresswoman was Barbara Lee. But there I go remembering stuff again.
