So no Nixon and no Goldwater and no Lee Atwater and no George H.W. Bush and fuck that socialist Eisenhower. Instead we get three repeatedly failed presidential candidates, one catastrophically failed president, one of that catastrophically failed president's henchpersons, four seconds of St, Ronald Reagan and, presumably in honor of Black History Month, Martin Luther King, Jr. who I'm sure would be amazed to learn that he has been pressed into service to bat leadoff for this second annual True Conservative snipe hunt for a set of principles around which they can wrap marketing material.

I think Charlie Sykes is telling us,

Some fans of the RNP still insist that MLK was a Republican. He wasn't. His father (MLK, Sr.) was.
That was before the party of Lincoln liberals took in all the Dickie Crats and southern Jim Crow racists.
There ae still many who fall prey to the GOP mantra of them being the party of Lincoln. The party of Hoover and the party of Andrew Jackson. is moe like it.
