After he was cut loose from ABC, Matthew Dowd 2.0 eased straight into simultaneous gigs at CNN and MSNBC. And praise for Matthew Dowd 2.0 from fan and colleagues now rings throughout the land:
& always do it with kindness & compassion

I’ve learned a lot of life lessons hanging around @matthewjdowd. Had a little fun along the way.

Been following @matthewjdowd a few years now. He’s the real deal. Love that dude.

@11thHour @matthewjdowd Why can’t the GOP be like Dowd?! He’s so right! The level of GOP hypocrisy is off the charts!
— ECM (@ec85wslc) February 24, 2021
Yes! I’d love to see him with his own program. We desperately need more visionaries and leaders with larger platforms. That’s how we’ll begin to heal while at the same time hold people accountable.

It goes on and on and on like that. Pages and pages. And it strikes me as both telling and completely predictable that none of them -- especially the paid media professionals -- apparently have any memory of Matthew Dowd 1.0 who was equally active and opinionated just a few years ago when he passionately believed the diametric opposite of everything he professes to passionately believe now.No. Giving liars a platform degrades our system.

This was back when Matthew Dowd 1.0 not only blocked me for routinely and publicly calling him out over the Both Siderist, Trump-enabling horseshit he peddled for a living...
do you ever get tired of always seeing the world in a biased way?— Matthew Dowd (@matthewjdowd) December 9, 2016
both status quo parties are broken.Saying 1 is worse thanother isn't helpful— Matthew Dowd (@matthewjdowd) August 21, 2016
why don't you accept people for where they are in the present?— Matthew Dowd (@matthewjdowd) August 21, 2016
Wonder what @greenbergerj thinks about @ABC's chief political analyst making a blunder this public & embarrassing? https://t.co/lRSVjVLg2I— driftglass (@Mr_Electrico) January 3, 2017
"So tired of 2status quo parties telling everyone they have to choose between these 2, let folks innovate & use other choices" @ThisWeekABC— Matthew Dowd (@matthewjdowd) August 21, 2016
let the clinton stuff go. Trump is president elect. And let's concentrate on that, and future leaders. Not the past.— Matthew Dowd (@matthewjdowd) December 23, 2016
...but went out of his way to insult people who read my little blog.

If you read Driftglass then you don't care much for the truth.— Matthew Dowd (@matthewjdowd) June 23, 2017
But now, all of that inconvenient history is just...gone. And without renouncing it or repenting of it or even acknowledging that it ever happened, Matthew Dowd 2.0 is free to erase Matthew Dowd 1.0 from existence and continue gliding from one media perch to the next to the next.
And that is the most important service the Beltway Media Insiders Club provides: relieving its members of any worries that there will ever be any consequences tomorrow for anything they say or do today.
And I must say, they do an excellent job of it.
Behold, a Tip Jar!

As if a picture of Ron Fournier with Mathew Dowd isnt repulsive enough you must quote him?
You and your damn facts !
If there is no such thing as a clown hospital. A medical center that caters exclusively to Clowns and their specific dilemmas of life.
There should be.
If there is a clown hospital can the doors only allow incoming traffic, I hate clowns, something about them, they ain't right.
Having listened to Pro Left podcasts recently, I'm struck by your note that the prime time networks didn't want to touch the writing from the left because it was, your words, too shrill. So - and stop me if I'm getting this assumption wrong - anger and stridency is a disqualifier, yeah?
Anger and stridency.
And yet it's totally okay for, oh... (gestures at Fox, Sunday shows, hate radio, churches LITERALLY preaching fire and brimstone used as conservative megaphones, etc.)... for all of that?
I'm fifty, be 51 this year. I firmly, grimly believe that I will not live to see this country start to get well. Something here is deeply, terrifyingly sick.
Like a clown car. All clowns are accepted inside and all clowns have a place inside that car.
So a doctor of cosmetics tells me. Who treats injured clown make up.
