I Look Forward To The New York Times' Hot Takes On Wings, L.A. Law and Parker Lewis Can't Lose

Because apparently they are only now discovering what the rest of us refer to as "The 1990s".

And they are just super proud of it!

Talk Radio Is Turning Millions of Americans Into Conservatives

The medium is at the heart of Trumpism.

By Paul Matzko

Dr. Matzko is the author of “The Radio Right: How a Band of Broadcasters Took on the Federal Government and Built the Modern Conservative Movement.”

Honestly, this is just embarrassing.

Sure, if offered, I'd take a gig writing an op-ed in The New York Times repeating as breathless epiphany something that had already been in The New York Times 26 years ago --

Republicans Get a Pep Talk From Rush Limbaugh

By Katharine Q. Seelye

Dec. 12, 1994

...

"Rush is as responsible for what happened here as much as anyone," said Vin Weber, a former Representative from Minnesota, now of Empower America. Citing a poll taken after the election by Frank Luntz, a Republican pollster, Mr. Weber said that people who listened to 10 hours or more a week of talk radio voted Republican by a 3-to-1 margin. "Those are the people who elected the new Congress," he said.

-- but I am low and perverse.

So if you happen to have an extra $34.95 to spend on a book telling you stuff you have already known for decades, good on you for having income that is that disposable.

Or, if you'd prefer a free rundown of the same material written three years ago by a dirty, disreputable Liberal whose work you will never see in the NYT, click here "In The Beginning..." and enjoy.

"The junk [heroin] merchant does not sell his product to the consumer, he sells the consumer to his product. He does not improve and simplify his merchandise. He degrades and simplifies the client."  -- William S. Burroughs

And if you happen to have $34.95 burning a hole in your pocket, well that's what the Tip Jar is for :-)

I saw that article. I remember when Rush premiered. A friend of mine was actually a friend of Rush's (my friend was in the radio biz). I remember Rush's homophobia, along with everything else. I told my friend 30 years ago Rush was poison and my friend said "nah, he's just entertaining people". I don't really speak with my friend anymore.

I recall some headlines that EL Rusbo saved AM Radio stations (businesses).

But did he? The right wing billionaire socialism to promote distraction and obstruction to clear minded civic and cultural educational development. What others call propagandizing.
It was the owners of those radio stations that failed their broadcast business.
How Rush would run n air on 2 stations in the same market once in the morning. A rerun in late afternoon and the late night rerun.

We did not hear from the tone police when Trump cussed on live air for all the choir boys to hear. They were actually upset that Rush had to pay a fine for that blasphemy.

Can America survive from November to January if Trump loses? If the GOP majority loses?
