Over the past 162 years, we here at the driftglass blog have had a lot of fun with an occasional feature called "Rand Paul Running Away From Things" featuring the Junior Senator from Kentucky sprinting like Hell away from many things which he once claimed to believe in including history, civil rights, voting rights, science and his own father.
Today we find Randal Howard Paul running away from Libertarianism, which he has claimed to be his core, defining philosophy ever since was created at a Koch Brothers research lab somewhere in Western Kentucky.
This development came as a complete surprise to everyone...except for anyone who has bothered to pay attention to Rand Paul's political career long enough to notice that, like every other Republican, he has no core, defining philosophy whatsoever except packing the courts with wingnut judges, tax cuts for his billionaire patrons and hanging on to power at all costs.Sen. Liberty for me and not for thee has always been a core tenet of libertarianism.
I think he now moves into the moniker realm of Rand Fucking Paul, after all he is just a one trick pony in that he just runs away all the time. Not unlike David Fucking Brooks and his bothsiderism one trick pony. What do you think?
One thing he definitely runs away from is his next door neighbor. If he were YOUR neighbor would you be in prison for mayhem?

This is another prime example of a white supremacist republican who inherited his political clout from his daddy. Yes, Like Jerry Falwell Jr Inherited Go's place of worship "His dad created on the 7th day as he rested his investments.
Projects Libertarian ism while adhering to a GOP Ideology. Again, Rand displays my justification to call it, "Give-Me-tariam".
That Libertarian ideology has never existed and makes as much since as QANON.
But there is Rand Paul in the senate from Kentucky.
You can see in Rand Paul's Libertarian world, he can walk through a protest defying everything they are speaking out on and feels threatened because his Fee-fees are more than a Collins "Concern" but a worry that other people aren't obeying his ideology like he demands they should.
Never understood why anyone that would vote for the Libertarian ideals. Why pay this guy for representation he doesn't believe you should have in the first place.
But he is a poster boy for public education to be funded.
Rand "I'm a little piss-ant but I crave attention" Paul wades into a crowd of protesters for no good reason other than to attract attention, suffers no bodily harm but probably shits himself in the process, and now wants other people arrested on the basis of nothing. That's about it, right?
Well, honestly, THE unspoken central tenet of Libertarianism is "I've got mine now so fuck you". So locking up pretty much everyone who disagrees with you is fairly consistent with that tenet. Anti-American and unconstitutional, yes, which also are among the unspoken central features of Libertarianism.
