I'm So Old I Remember When Michael Steele Was The GOP's Special Black Friend

The black Republican hired to work the front door of the party of bigots and imbeciles and tell everyone who passed by that while there used to be racists in the Republican Party, they were all gone now!

Racism over!  Yay!

Today Michael Steele has a new job: appearing regularly on MSNBC to express his shock and surprise that his Republican Party is full of racists.  Racists who, Mr. Steele maintains, all spontaneously came flooding back into the GOP the minute he left.

Sad!

And the role of "black Republican marched out on stage to tell everyone that the GOP is cool and not racist now" has passed to Tim Scott, who has opted to go with exactly the same, creepily dissociative language that Reagan used when his doctors said he had had cancer.  ''I didn`t have cancer," Reagan replied. "I had something inside of me that had cancer in it, and it was removed.''
Racism over!

Sort of!

Yay!

Though not apparently a morally corrupt person the way that Justice Thomas is, Sen. Scott nevertheless embraces the kind of conservative exclusionist and white supremacist values that leave him unable to understand the systemic racism of the United States dating back to well before the Revolution much less be able to address those problems.

I am so old;

I recall when right wingers called people of the left Un American for not wearing a American Flag pin (made in China) and demanded they be punished harshly.
And now how the GOP embraces the NAZI salute to their republican president as done for Hitler by his fascist NAZI extremists..

Imagine Justice Thomas returning home from a trip. Does not have his house keys and tries to let himself in his own house by breaking in. The police are called for a burglary in progress. The police arrive , arrest and book Justice Thomas but then find he owns the house and no crime committed. So the plice just let him go.

Would Trump have a beer summit with the arresting officer and Thomas?

Would the police responding just draw their weapons and shoot?

Would that even change anything on the Supreme Court?

Now, Consider this occurring and Thomas is shot dead in the scenario and their is a democratic president to nominate another justice to the court?????

Does it alter Senate republicans mindset on appointing a SCOTUS replacement?

I'm sure he's a nice guy and a good neighbor and is a fun guy at the BBQ over a few beers. Has a nice house and a couple of nice cars. Is Linkedin with 10,000 or so Republicans. Gets in on some good deals. Net worth 1 to 5 million.

I am old enough to remember Steele looking straight into the camera and saying "Well Of COURSE Sarah Palin is qualified to be president".

the man is dead to me ever since, and steve schmmidt, too, for the exact same reason.
