Thank you for your reaction to the possibility of Trump cancelling the presidential election due to the pandemic. While I've been turned off by the blatant cheering of people being killed or dying in left-wing comment sections, I've had my fill of the Stephanie Miller/Jonathan Fugelsang-type "do whatever you want, we're not even going to boycott you" felkercarb, which I feel has emboldened Republicans.

It has not beeen my observations over the years that the right looks to the left for inspiration to enhance their extremes and desires to use government to punish other people.
They turn to Rush, FOX, Brieghtbarts, NAZI and KKK organizations funded by wealthy right wingers who find the constitution deprives them of being a full blown dictator that their inheritance entitles them to.
They feed their zombies constantly the hate of the left or anyone else to have a voting base for the time being. Until they can rewrite the constitution in their own image to rule. Are they jealous of the N. Korea child God who inherited a country and now owns all of those human resources? You bet.....

Perhaps I am more of a Malcontent than a Democrat. Not an independent like Republican Sen Susan Collins and haven't found any compatibility with a GOP Tom Cotton. Can't find resolution in any democratic Senator that has grand ideas of bi partisanship imaginary world if he gains majority in the Senate to reinstate the filibuster. As this is what will cause the right to work together in a civil manner, (hello Merrick Garland).
I deserve better, I am a member of the malcontent party.

It's a two-party system. You either vote Democratic or you're voting (tacitly or explicitly) for fascism. But I agree that expecting Republican to reciprocate civility is a fool's errand. Hopefully, if we manage to regain control of the executive branch, the new president exact righteous vengeance while he can, regardless of what he says during the campaign.

One of my go-to mental tools when chaos comes calling is to remind myself that, having lived on the very bleeding edge for 25 years, I am better equipped than most to deal with it, at least mentally. This time around, every time I'm about to think that I get this other voice I don't really recognize snapping at me that I'm too fucking old for this bullshit.

Now to reconcile them, as they are both correct.

I thought of you this morning when I was reading my monthly newsletter email from Indivisible, which goes into detail about not letting Fergus 1984 us into not remembering the awful shit he did. Perhaps I'll go back and try to reply to it and tell Ezra that there's this guy Driftglass that he might want to go and read every word he ever wrote. I mean, why not? You're confined like everyone else. What was that? You're busy saving the world? Well, all right, I guess, but put it on your to-do list.

Thank you again for the podcast. I managed to get a walk up to the mill pond in today before I listened, and it might be the last such walk for a little while as the snow is supposed to start later today. Ducks and frogs, my friends, ducks and frogs.

I hope you're right about the election, as I'm beginning to sense a different flavor of desperation coming from Fergus and his felons, and all they really have to do to steal it is insist on a close to 100% in person vote (with ID, like he yawped yesterday) in the middle of a still raging second wave pandemic and really bad things could happen. I'll get to vote by mail, but I live in California so my presidential vote doesn't count for much.

Tell Blue Gal that her jingle has become a part of the cat-dance for mealtime. Littlebeast hardly ever eats kibble any more unless I bend down and stroke his back a few times, but then he just snarfles it right up.

Any word on the Democratic Primary in Wisconsin is still going forward during this raging pandemic? If Bernie's still in it and this is still a democracy, why not absentee ballots for all? And if we're going mask off and not even pretending, then why kill Americans, Democratic voters even, for the sake of this ritual that no longer serves any practical function?

Appreciate the concern to address the 2 party system. . Be assured, I am well aware of it and voting for republicans is a cross between self flogging or selling myself into slavery for the cash.
You are not alone in understanding how the GOP has evolved their Unitary president into a full blow dictator .
Right now, just putting my survival skills to work in hopes of Donny Genius to make the great decision that only a chosen one could. As the Hurricane nuke to stop it. Can we get to the election and inauguration of a new president before the last idiot in the room sways the stable genius that nuking the hot spots of the pandemic will cure us all. You have to realize the Republicans in Congress will stand with Trump if he does.
WE have to nuke NYC to save it, conservative right wing religious Rapture resolve.
