Holy For Fucks Sake! Was this some Dick Cheney from the Earth on the Dark Side of the Sun? None of what Greenwald said had any vague resemblance to reality. Cheney never gave the first shit about what was good for the country. He operated on what was good for his cabal of rabid right wing oligarchs. You know, I disagree with Hitler's notion to make the trains run on time to keep the Jewish elimination on schedule. An interesting use of the term "good faith mistakes," which is now apparently synonymous with "war crimes committed by a Republican."
I heard today that the neo-Nazi who drove his car into demonstrators in Charlottesville killing one of them, is going to plead self defense. When that gets hooted out of court, I suggest he claim that it was a good faith mistake.
So because Cheney used patriotic rhetoric to support his evil, (which distinguishes it from the bargain basement, brand free, generic, evil of the commoners, who go to jail) he gets a pass? You see, as far as Im concerned, using patriotism to smear and overpower those with whom you disagree, is a crime unto itself, even before you set the middle east on fire, to protect your financial interests.
Lives wasted, treasure lost and trust broken all because America was tasked with finding out why all of Dick Cheney's oil was under all that Iraqi sand. It was a damn shame.
