Added plus of support for the idea of Medicare for all: the Pig People can get Obamacare repealed and replaced with it!
Not that I think we should let them dictate our policies, but having a get for them in your hip pocket before you roll out your idea will be helpful.
I had similar conflictions when I read the Blow column: while I understand what he was saying, the actual hell has swished past me like an ill-aimed bullet. I still have my health insurance, I live in a democratically controlled state large enough to actually push back on the worst of Fergus' nightmare of an agenda, and frankly, there are far fewer gunfights in the street outside my front door now than there were twenty years ago.
Perhaps hell is really more of an idea for most of his readers than an actual state of affairs, but for those of us who have had real addresses a little too close to the carnage for our mental and physical health, there was a certain longing for a reality check in the background of our reactions.
