Thank you to the entire Democratic Party and to two Republican women -- Senators Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins -- for helping to save my kids' health insurance. Once again, with the help of a couple of GOP women, the party that stands up for women, minorities, the poor, the sick, the infirm, the outcast and left behind, immigrants and the working class have stepped up and saved us from the depravity and madness of the Party of Trump.
The Democrats are now, in fact, a party of woman and minorities and it's about damn time to brag on that instead of hiding from it. Because even though I am a middle-aged white guy, I am never prouder to be a Liberal and a Democrat than on days like today.
And you get some credit too, John McCain. Sure, you could have put a halt to this days ago, but I guess keeping all of us stressed out and terrified a little bit longer just so the "kerplunk" of you taking a vendetta dump in President Stupid's punch-bowl would be more dramatic was more important.

The "kerplunk" heard round the world. You make me LOL. You and Digby are my favorite bloggers. Happy Friday!
Please don't forget the heroism of another woman: Sen. Mazie Hirono: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2017/7/28/1684875/-I-d-Like-to-Believe-Sen-Mazie-Hirono-s-Speech-Convinced-John-MCain-to-Vote-No#comment_67277505
I watched the vote in real time last night.
Brian Williams displayed some disappointment it the repleal / replace failure. He must of been counting on those tax breaks.
On the other hand Co host Ari provided decent commentary.
Brian it seems only had eyes for Mavericky McCain.
Who's final decision was "NO" , based on Speaker Ryan;s lack luster promise to not pass the bill they were trying to pass. Seems to me there are other reasons he voted as he did. The result is good with me.
Yes, Collins and Murkowsky took the heat and will seek physical theropy for all the soreness in their joints from the arm twisting.
may I point out, on the female GOP side,
Joni Earnst, Deb Fisher, and the other few female GOPers voted just like the flea circus trained FLEA Mike Pence who was ready on site in a temporary swmap pen. To robotically come on stage and perform his rehearsed flea circus act. As the GOP men and wemon combined.
Lawrence O'Donnell came on and provided spot color reporting opinion.
"That a dead cat was on McConnell's porch. That dead animal is now gone. They wanted to get the dead animal off their porch and they did.
Yet, pointed out later, that dead animal on McConnell's porch was moved and dropped on Trump porch at the white House.
Trump now needs someone to remove it from his porch, because he is not touching it. It is not his job.
Can't call animal control to come and remove it, their funding was cut for tax cuts and they do not exist anymore. may have to get a H1b visa for a Guatamalan immigrant to come in to remove it, eh?
last night I heard the sound of 1% of our nation throwing their remotes through high end 80" curved flat screen TV's yelling:
"What the FUCK have I been paying for these last 30 years?!?! Just when I think I've got these assholes in line they quit on me! Get me the phone and a check book, we got some primaries to buy!"
This morning, I called the Richmond offices of both of my senators--Kaine and Warner--and thanked them for being right all along, and for doing what they could to hold the 48 together as a block. I talked to real people at both offices, by the way, and they both acted surprised by the call. I would have called my representative's office , too, but it's Dave Brat. He's tone deaf.
A little birdie on the Interwebs told me the Kochs are locking up their Election War Chest piggybank until something passes the Senate. Smells like the legendary Trump Train will blow up real good in 2018 if Dems can keep it derailed long enough.

actually more than a little. by using a general vote on the floor the bill as written was dead. if the senate head 'mitch' had known the vote of mccain he would of sent it back to committee and it would still be an option.
