Who Mourns for a Dumbass?*

Who mourns for a dumbass?

Some dope at Salon, apparently.  Who is either so craven or jaw-droppingly clueless or desperate for a gig at the New York Times that he has written an entire column whose premise is "Where have you gone, Joe Fucking Lieberman, a nation turns its lonely eyes to you."

No, I am not kidding:
Where have all the centrists gone? A look at why American politics is so dysfunctional

American politics is seeing the death of centrism — and it may be having disastrous effects
This is followed by a picture of Holy Joe.  But not this picture.

Which is followed by...
Centrism.

It’s not a term you hear a lot in American politics today. Consider President Donald Trump. Though he’s refusing to work with Democrats, the #resist movement is demanding that Democrats don’t work with him either.

But a CNN/ORC poll from March found that 72 percent of Americans would prefer for Trump to forge bipartisan compromises on major legislation in order to bring about positive change, while 69 percent want to see Democrats work with the president. Yet statistics notwithstanding, centrism can be a death sentence for a politician.

Consider Joe Lieberman...
No, you consider Joe Lieberman, motherfucker.  I've already written a hundred posts about him and focused my own, meager phaser banks on firing 6,000 posts in the last 12 years on the toxic twaddle that is Centrism in the Age of Gingrich and Limbaugh and Fox News and Trump.

The High and Holy Church of Both Siderism has meant full employment for the worst pundits in the country, and has been an unmitigated disaster for our national politics.  Its temple must be brought down once and for all and the very idea of "Centrism" must be warehoused as the profane rubble of deranged idol worshipers at least until the Republican Party is no longer certifiably insane.

*Yes this is a riff on a Star Trek TOS episode.

Want some Centerism....lets talk to Kenzinger, or Schiff, or Collins, or Gillibrand or Lewis some of the people who are willing to be bipartisan. These people put country before party, are concerned with people, are not greedy, ignorant assholes like the great majority of them.
Laughing and partying after screwing over the majority of the country was the final straw.
It's house cleaning time...senate too
The time of old, rich white men is over. Elect some women, but not brainless ones like Blackburn. Elect some people of color, some people of other religions. Elect some people with a concience. I know, foriegn concept, but it's time

Ah, I'm always delighted to see your Instagram snap of Joe Lieberman's soul. Kudos.

I don't know who this putz is at Salon, but if he'd stayed awake in nursery school he'd know that the Brothers Grimm put paid to this whole centrism/both sides nonsense over 200 years ago:

Well I'll give it this: if you want to talk about why USA politics are so dysfuntional, then talking about Joe Liebertoad is a good place to start. However, I get it that's not what the dope at Salon meant.

PS Kudos for the Temple of Apollo episode of Star Trek rif. That set! Those costumes! I love the first Star Trek. Just fabulous!
