The Tone Police

The tone police
They live on cable teevee
The tone police
They're paid to shush and decree
The tone police
They're coming to denounce me
Oh no...

Remember five minutes ago when the tone of Liberal resistance was the real problem with our politics?  Back when failed professional Both Siderist concern troll, Michael Smerconish, was deeply concern about me and mine because...
The Left being so angry (just like the Tea Party was in 2010?) is going to drown out their message!
As the inimitable Blue Gal pointed out when she wrote this up:
Perhaps Michael has forgotten the entire Bush Administration? When all our "vituperative foul-mouthed blogging" somehow "got in the way" of our message that Bush-Cheney lied us into war and collapsed the economy?
Also, as I recall, is was the opinion of every pundit on planet Earth back in 2010 that the sheer, berserk, racist, Birther, Death Panel screaming-from-the-rooftops fury of the Fake Tea Party was how the Party of Jefferson Davis took over the so the whole predicate of "harsh language will cost Liberals dearly at the polls" is ludicrous from jump.

Smerconish is such earnestly committed buffoon that it's hard to believe he's real.  His radio program is, at best, trifling ("Our poll question of the day: Woodchucks?  Do they actually chuck wood?  And if so, how much?  We'll dive right into that controversy after this word from Casper Mattresses...") and, at worst (which is most of the time) a complete Both Siderist shit show.

Which I am given to understand remains the best and most recession-proof dollar in the political media game.

Trump shows respect to no one and nothing, but Howard Dean let out a 'yeargh!', so both sides.

I think Colbert clearly explained the bi partisanship between Trump and Putin.

Trump provides the holster and Putin provides the pistol loaded with Viagra.

No difference between Obama firing Flynn and Trump firing Yates, Comey and the entire prosecutor of the justice department.

They don't need no stinkin prosecutors when the have a Jeff Sessions. All 3 feet high of him, at that.

If Sessions catches me laughing at him on this blog. Can he have me arrested?

And now a reporter has been arrested for yelling a question at Price and Conway. This is not good.

Driftglass,
I love your blog and contribute often to keep you encouraged and as compensated as I can for your excellent work. But please, is there any way to run your material through a copy editor? I worked in newspapers for most of 30 years and the typos and flat out incoherent flubs make this painful to read. And such errors give naysayers unwarranted leverage to discount your arguments. I will copyedit your stuff for free. I read you daily, often 2-3 times. And it pains me to find stuff like this:
"Also, as I recall, is was the opinion of every pundit on planet Earth back in 2010 that the sheer, berserk, racist, Birther, Death Panel screaming-from-the-rooftops fury of the Fake Tea Party was how the Party of Jefferson Davis took over the so the whole predicate of "harsh language will cost Liberals dearly at the polls" is ludicrous from jump."
I know you're a small operation with no staff. I get that. So let me help. I can offer my edits, send them along for your approval, and you can post them or revise the postings as needed. No trolling or malfeasance from me, just cleaner, better copy that will improve your standing with your fans and remove reasons to dismiss you by those you rightly poke with your sharp wit and observations.
In any case, keep up the good work and here's to improved copyediting.

Sincerely,
Jim Burrus, Longmont, CO
