20 years later, he is the GOP's default setting and the Republican Supreme Court's vision of the American political ideal.

Who could have truly predicted that anything that nuts would actually come to pass? The only difference is now they don't even have to say where all the cash is coming from.
How we escape a fascist future at this stage is anyone's guess.
My favorite example is Brazil, a dystopian fantasy in 1987. How were we to know that it was a dire warning from thirty years in the future, and how the fuck did Terry Gilliam know?
