Liberal Shit Andrew Sullivan Says, Ctd.

Now that Andrew Sullivan has shifted his core blog mission to squirting shots of Dorm Room Tory Mio into things that American Liberals have been saying for a generation and serving it up as the state-of-the-art in Edgy Conservative Public Intellectualizing, I thought at least one Dirty Hippie somewhere should memorialize a few representative examples of how completely Mr. Sullivan's "Real" Conservative thinking of  has become a tree fort tucked snugly within a greater Liberal weltanschauun, the existence of which Mr. Sullivan continues to adamantly refuse to acknowledge:
I do think the refusal to pore over the Bush-Cheney fiasco honestly remains a major block to reform on the right. The rational ones must know that Bush’s Medicare D was far more expensive than the Affordable Care Act, and, unlike the ACA, was never budgeted. They must know that domestic spending exploded under Bush, even as he refused, unlike Reagan before him, to budge on his ruinous tax cuts. They know they cannot attack Obama’s allegedly imperial presidency without confronting the much more expansive claims for executive power made by Cheney et al. They also must know somewhere in their heads that the debt we now have was not created by Obama. he just had to manage it in the depths of the worst recession since the 1930s. The debt is a function of tax cuts we couldn’t afford, wars we couldn’t afford, a new entitlement we couldn’t afford and a recession caused by an unregulated Wall Street run amok.
Except, Andrew, there are no rational ones left.

There are just jelly-spined Nouveau Both Siderists like your dear friend David Brooks -- a man who is every bit as congenitally incapable of admitting error as any teabagging meatstick, but who manifests his denialism in a more Acela Corridor-acceptable fashion by A) automatically punching an imaginary hippie in the face every time a teabagging meatstick sets fire to something, and B) radically revising recent American history so that the last 40 years of continually down-spiraling nihilist Conservative batshittery simply never happened.

And heeeeere comes the punch line:
Because acknowledging this reality means self-criticism, they cannot do it...
Metaphysician, heal thyself.

We can only hope that the stuff that liberals have been right about for 30 years becomes the conventional wisdom of conservatives...which it always has and always will, throughout history.

Imagine a US with the Democratic party as the right-wing party, with an equal left-wing progressive party...

Of course, as one of your commenters has stated a few times (Steeve? I can't remember) that can only happen once the Republican party is dead and buried.
