Last Minute Prep: David Plouffe Reminds POTUS

Of the single characteristic that unites all 73 "Undecided" voters at whom tonight's Face-Shred at Hempstead! ...Buzz Saw at Hofstra! ...Pile-On on Long Island! ... Hyperbole at MSNBC! ... Ooze Cruise on Fox News! ,,, will be aimed.

Since I am not an Undecided voter, I'll probably get a haircut and wash out some dainties and then tune in later to let Tom Brokaw and David Gregory Mark Halperin tell me what I am supposed to think, but if his people are listening (and I know they are) here is one piece of last minute advice from me to you: Tell your audience to pay attention for 24 hours, not 90 minutes.  Insist that citizenship demands that they pay some fucking attention to how the people who are applying for the job of running their country plan to do so,  Tell them to pick up a paper and pencil, write down all of the positions Willard Romney's stakes out tonight and then watch over the next 24 hours as his campaign staff "walks back" every one of them.

Tell them that if they cannot be bothered to be even this minimally involved in and informed about how the applicants for President of the United States plan to use the terrible power of that office, then fuck 'em.

While many (many many many) on the Right think that "those" people really are morons and the vote should be protected from "them", I would love to see a democrat say, "You're just too stupid to vote. Stay home."

I think the closest we came was when Barney Frank told a woman that it would be more productive for him to argue with is dining room table than converse with her.

I don't know if this will be of any interest to anyone, but, in case it is, I just found out a guy I work with is an undecided voter. I'd been wondering who these elusive nitwits are that just can't make up their minds between these two dramatically different characters.

It turns out I've been sitting next to one at work for months.

I asked him the other day who he's voting for, and he told me he hadn't made up his mind. He said he was "leaning towards Obama. I was leaning the other way a couple of weeks ago."

So I queried him rather directly: How can you NOT KNOW who you want to vote for between these opposite characters?

To my surprise, his answer made more sense than I expected. (Not the same as saying "it made sense. ;)

Here's his profile:

— 22 year Air Force Vet.
— Favors gay rights and gay marriage.
— Strong believer in the entitlement state. Says this is based on his life in the military. Thinks entitlements should be *expanded.*
— Atheist
— Big supporter of education and expanding spending thereon.
— Thinks corporations are shafting the people and hoarding wealth for themselves.
— Hates the tea party

On the other hand:

— Hates the Occupy movement.
— Hates "illegal immigrants," and insists on calling them that.
— Not only supports 3 strikes you're out, but wants *the death penalty* for 3 strikes you're out -- even if the 3rd offense is for stealing an ice cream cone. Not kidding.
— Hates unions.
— Generally detests liberal culture, feminists, environmentalists, "political correctness," etc.

So, really, I can see how he's having trouble deciding, even if half of what he thinks is batshit crazy.

Interestingly, he's not attached to the Fox News feeding tube or the RWNM more generally. If he was, he wouldn't be undecided; he'd be a full blown wingnut.

I'm going to watch some scripted, polished dialogue, come out of the mouths of the most unlikely characters, giving me little or no real information about the current real life problems this society faces: Its "Sons of Anarchy" night!
If the debate were punctuated with some mindless violence....? Nah..still SOA...

What the hell, even George Will called it for Obama, albeit on a technical.

Call it a blowout, then.

What is the best way to explain that both sides don't do it?

I'm being serious here. Lots of people say it and I am so shocked and utterly saddened that I have nothing but,
"facts are facts, they aren't liberal or conservative, they are just fucking facts!"
