Not in the Mood?

"What has mood to do with it? You fight when the necessity arises - no matter the mood! Mood's a thing for cattle or making love or playing the baliset. It's not for fighting."

If you're implying that the Democrats need to fight despite not being "in the mood", then I wholeheartedly agree. These are serious times indeed.

I read "Dune" when I was in my science fiction reading kick (mid-teens to early 20s). I recall it being almost as tendentiously written as "Atlas Shit the Bed."

I bought the original trilogy of Dune many years ago. I tried to like it, but I couldn't like it. After cutting my F&SF teeth on Roddenberry's mostly-sunny future world, I found Herbert's future world a disgusting dystopia in which human beings are the same vicious talking apes we've always been. The humans of Herbert's world didn't deserve to survive to go into space.

Note on name: I'm growing weary of being the Monster from the Id. I think it's time for a name change.
