Napa Valley Grapes of Wrath

Wherever there's a fight for tax policies to make sure that the children's children's children of inherited wealth will never have to work a day in their lives, I'll be there.

Wherever there's a Wall Street bankster making sure that the scheme they just invented to Ponzi you out of your life's savings in some new and exotic way is not only perfectly legal, but so central to the global economy that we have to let them keep on grifting even after the scam collapses, I'll be there.

Brilliant Photoshopping, as usual, dude.

Well, kiddies, the moment you've all been waiting for is here. The 3rd annual Assclowns of the Year is up, with 50, count 'em, 50 of 2010's biggest assclowns. So pop some popcorn, take a pull off the eggnog and curl up with your monitors because this one will split the skies.

On the spit this year:
George W. Bush (45)
Glenn Beck (26)
Lady Gaga (50)
BP (4)
The Cat Food Commission (17)
The Pope (8) and much, much, MUCH more!

Trust me when I tell you that I'm glad I'm old. I'm not certain that I want to live long enough to see how this all turns out. I am sure whatever these idiots (and faux Christians) are planning will not include me. No matter what Sarah says, she favors death panels -- GOP policies will foster it.

Well, only slightly OT is what I just read at Whiskey Fire; "the dog that didn't bark in this whole tax cut deal" as Flory states. One thing the rethugs refused to accept in the package from Obama was a reauthorization of BABS, a federal program that allows cash-strapped states to subsidize the interest on their borrowings (expires on 12/31).

This will make it infinitely harder for states like CA or IL to avoid bankruptcy, and the goal is to use that to crush the state employee unions a la St. Ronnie and PATCO, thus forcing huge concessions in the name of budget emergency/bankruptcy.

This will kill the market in municipal bonds but Wall Street has been pawning those off on pension funds (state, and private) for years, secure in their knowledge that this day would come. Fall out level = quite nasty.

Hey, wouldn't that be a great time to jam through some Cat Food Commission recommendations for the whole country? Shock Doctrine stuff, but this time the target is any US citizen who isn't in that magic highest 5%. The rethug plan to further concentrate the wealth and pauperize the rest of us continues apace.

This gambit has been evident all along, if you think about it, String.

The Shock Doctrine has finally come home a la the Cat Food Commission (tasked to solve the deficit problem, but given the ability to cripple Social Security which heretofore had not been considered as part of the deficit as it had trillions in contributions saved up for the eventual payout in a "separate" but not quite "lock box" fund) where many believe it was intended to do so all along after practicing up on the helpless in places like Haiti and New Orleans.

Grover Norquist's "drown it in a bathtub" strategy certainly seems to have been the ruling theme for these guys so far.

And whose team again is it Obama is on?

LOL. Let's just call him "Wall Street Barry," and leave it at that.

You might add to your photoshop, showing that the truck they're in is sitting in quicksand at the bottom of a cliff, with a GIGANTIC wave coming right at them.... while they pretend to be driving it. Alas! the truck has NO ENGINE, since it was given to the 2% Super Wealthy, who are standing at the top of the cliff.... drinking champagne and laughing their asses off.

Oh I was aware that this has always been the GOP plan in all it's multifaceted glory, but this one came out of the blue for me and I don't see any news coverage on it. None.

I always figured they were going to Shock Doctrine us, I suppose I am surprised at how badly they are willing to destroy the economy in order to achieve their ideological ends. By now you'd think I'd know better...

@KWillow: I imagine pretty much the same thing, only the ultra-rich folk at the top of the cliff are wearing black Sith Lord robes while the Darth Sidious theme plays ominously in the background.

One could add to the picture by having the approaching wave be much higher and bigger than the (metaphor for climate change)... its gonna swamp them too.

grr- accidentally deleted part of the sentence. "the wave... higher & bigger than the RICH FOLK realize"
