The Teabagger's Dilemma
They cannot, cannot, cannot admit to being the willing stooges of the loathsome ideology that broke this country.
And they cannot, cannot, cannot admit that the hated Liberals have been right all along.
To even whisper such things is to risk being shunned like a leper by their wingnut peers.
And so they go mad.

Not a bad analogy--they do keep trying to destroy the evidence.
Of course, like Miss Mae Ella, spending one's life whining that "that n*gger ruined my life!" is not a very effective way of suppressing the truth.
