Plamelot - Part 2

What Do The Shia Folk Do?

As you might remember, four years ago as the Dubya Party was running the country off a cliff, rather than pointing out that the Administration was being operated by a pack of lying, slavering jackals who hadn’t the slightest fucking clue what they were doing vis-à-vis Iraq except that we had to invade it, and invade it Right!!NOW!! members of the media were instead asking fluffy-happy-bunny questions.

Questions like:
Media:
What do the Shia folk do
To help them escape when they’re blue?
The shepard who is ailing, the milkmaid who is glum
The shopkeep whose family has been wiped out by a bomb?
When their patience is smashed
The folk whose country we crashed
However do they manage to shed their weary lot?
Oh, what do Shia folk do we do not?

Dubya:
I have been informed by Neocons who know them well

They find relief in quite a clever way
When they're sorely pressed, they vote for a spell
And sporting purple fingers seems to brighten up their day
And that's what Shia folk do
So they say

Media:
They vote?

Dubya:
Purple fingers will save the day.

Media:
What else do the Shia folk do
To pluck up the heart and get through?
The wee folk and the grown folk
Whose world we’ve blow to bits
Whose futures we sent up in smoke
(If it we’re me I’d stay ripped to the tits)
When all the doldrums begin
What keeps each of them in his skin?
What ancient native custom provides the needed glow?
Oh, what do Shia folk do?
Do you know?

Dubya:
Once, upon the road, I came upon a lad
Singing about tax cuts for the wealthy guys

When I asked him why, he told me he was sad
And tax cuts always made his spirits rise
And that's what Shia folk do
I surmise

Media:
They cut taxes?

Dubya:
I surmise

Media:
What else do the Shia folk do?
I hear their Islam is but one of two.
There’s this other bunch called Sunni
Who cause them endless misery,
What, then, I wonder, do they
To chase all the goblins away?
They have some tribal sorcery you haven't mentioned yet
Oh, what do Shia folk do to forget?

Dubya:
Often, I am told, they build democratic coalitions

And chat amiably until the madness is controlled
And then its peaceful Jeffersonian transitions
To a Mini Me America astounding to behold
And that's what Shia folk do
So I'm told

Media:
They build peaceful coalitions?

Dubya:
So I'm told

Media:
What else do the Shia folk do
To help them cope with our little coup?

Dubya:
They sit around and wonder what Alan Greenspan would do.
And that's what Shia folk do.

Media:
Oh, no, really?

Dubya:
I have it on the best authority.

BOTH
Yes, that's what Shia folk do

Oh, c'mon, Drifty. Dubya wouldn't use a word like "surmise."
