When smart, competent, compassionate people ran the country?
People who, for all their flaws, could
speak in complete sentences?
People who could
hold actual conversations on actual, complicated issues.
People who did not run in circles, pissing themselves like drunken two-year-olds and screaming "Traitor!"
whenever someone pointed out inconvenient truths.
