Yes, I am one butt-ugly dog.

But the hairy-clumps that cling to my ass are a beauty like unto the Smile of the Gioconda compared to the putrefying contents of James Dobson’s nutty skull.

Think not?

Possible Frist '08 Bid Splits Religious Right
Absent Senator the Talk of 'Justice Sunday'

By Thomas B. Edsall
Washington Post Staff Writer
Tuesday, August 16, 2005; A02

NASHVILLE, Aug. 15 -- Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) was not present at Justice Sunday II, a televised gathering of major religious leaders in his home state to promote the Supreme Court nomination of John G. Roberts Jr., but he was on everyone's mind.

Just over two weeks ago, the prospective presidential candidate alarmed some leaders of the Christian right when he broke ranks with President Bush to announce support of expanded embryonic stem cell research, a stand viewed in many quarters of the antiabortion movement as permitting the taking of a human life.

Some religious leaders who spoke here were prepared to forgive Frist or to grant him the benefit of the doubt. Others, however, warned that he had crossed an important moral boundary and would face political consequences.

Every winner of the Republican presidential nomination since Ronald Reagan in 1980 has had significant support from social conservatives, won in large measure by embracing stands acceptable to antiabortion groups. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), who denounced the religious right during his bid for the 2000 Republican presidential nomination, was defeated that year by George W. Bush, who had worked hard to cultivate social conservatives.

Perkins said Frist was not invited to Justice Sunday II because House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Tex.) was chosen for star billing, not because of Frist's stand on stem cell research. Other religious leaders here, speaking not for attribution, said they viewed the decision not to invite Frist to a major event in his home state as a pointed snub.

James Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family, who spoke by video to the Justice Sunday II assembly, has steadily escalated his criticism of Frist, comparing his stand on embryonic stem cell research to Nazi experimentation on human subjects during WWII.

"The Nazis experimented on human beings in horrible ways in the concentration camps, and I imagine, if you wanted to take the time to read about it, there would have been some discoveries there that benefited mankind," he said on his radio show last week. "You remove ethics and morality, and you get what happened in Nazi Germany." Then, specifically addressing Frist, Dobson said, "there's a higher order of ethics here."
So the problem the Sacrilegious Right has with Frist isn’t that he’s not their whore. It isn’t that he hasn’t already sold himself and his principles out; completely turn out his ethical pockets to Old Scratch and Sniff.

Sorry Senator. Sure, you’re crazy, you’re just not Tom DeLay-crazy.

Nothing lower than this. Really. A perfect cocktail of Fundamentalist anti-science bigotry, shithouse-rat crazy theology and a piquant slice of “Anyone who disagrees with me is a Nazi” to liven the whole thing up.

OK, maybe there is one thing lower than these douchebags.

Pandering to these douchebags.

Rolling out the Red Carpet for this douchebags. Cracking open the Good Scotch for these Bag of Douche. Going way, waaaay out of your way to welcome them into your hearth and home, and then throwing them the keys to the Party of Lincoln and begging them to drive you to the White House

But that’d be about as low as possible, right?

Knowing what a rancid pile James Dobson is – what deeply and profoundly evil, hateful, anti-American men he and his ilk are – and still kneeling down and servicing them like a trained circus seal playing a line of trumpets, that would approach some kind of theoretical lower limit of below which it would be impossible to sink.

Or so you would think.

There is one more scum-slick step on this portrait of Fucktard Descending a Stairway Into an Open Sewer.

That would be actually voting for the people…who pander to the Douchbags…who live in the jerrybuilt House that Jerry Built.

Rising from your bed one bright November morn, walking to your polling place, drawing the curtain, and affirming by your deliberate action that you choose to throw in your lot and doom your country by handing it over to some of the most unspeakably vile creatures this old land has ever produced.

To look around you and note that ALL of the bigots, neonazis, NeoCons, Unreconstructed Segregationists, Wingnut theocrats, looters, gutless chickenhawk and assorted other creepy, half-bright, bile-spewing wannabes like Ricky Santorum are ALL in the same political party…and say to yourself in privacy of your own soul: Yes, This Is What I Want!

That, I would have to argue, is the cheapest and lowest betrayal of all.

sometimes i pray to the Flying Spaghetti Monster that we eventually find proof that the 2004 election was stolen - not only so that we can throw all the Mission Accomplices in jail - but also because it would be really comforting to know that 59 million americans really arent *that* dumb

lurkey,
The FSM is powerful indeed, His carbo wonders to behold.

I figure about 35-50 million really are that dumb, or hateful or have been rendered morally comatose by their faith. The rest were just scared out of their minds, and kept that way as a matter of policy.

Good Lord, drift--what the devil is that thing in the picture?

It would be refreshing to vote for a candidate (even as ugly as that pooch) who was something other than the lesser of evils. Maybe we should start teaching civics if democracy is of any importance.

Drifty, you forgot one group of Elephascist voters: The affluent, or at least semi-affluent, "moderates" who deep down really don't like pseudo-Christian, Enlightenment-hating fascism, but hold their noses and support it anyway because it promises not to raise their taxes. Actually, a truly leftist government could cut taxes for the common citizen, because that government would not have to maintain an imperial-caliber military and covert-ops machine in order to enforce the sacred right of American and multinational corporations to rape the Global South (fka the 3rd World) with impunity, but only what was actually needed to defend our country. Also, full and sole public financing of campaigns would get rid of backscratching subsidies and tax breaks for wealthy political contributors.

But, let's assume the "moderates'" fears of tax hikes are justified. They are saying that they would rather enable the fascism that takes my Lord's name in vain to justify its brutality and greed, and also that they would rather condemn THEIR OWN CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN to be debt-slaves of the foreigners who prop up the Brobdingnagian deficits of the Elephascists, than suck it up and pay taxes like--oh, I don't know--RESPONSIBLE ADULTS?!! TO ANY "MODERATES" READING THIS: YOU SUCK. YOU REALLY, TRULY, EXTRAVAGANTLY SUCK. YOU SUCK MORE INTENSELY THAN THE SURFACE GRAVITY OF THE AVERAGE NEUTRON STAR. HOW MUCH DID YOU GET FOR THE WITHERED THINGS YOU CALL YOUR SOULS??!!?

Thanx, Drifty, for giving me a place to vent.

Recommendation: When y'all are through with Drifty's blog, try moxiegrrrl.com
for similarly pungent politics and the CUTEST caricature on the Web. (It oughta be foxygrrrl.com!) Alas, she's happily married.

Great post, D (as always).

Last week, we were over at my mother's house for dinner, and when I sat down at the table, what did I see sitting next to my napkin but a 1970's paperback edition of James Dobson's "Dare to Discipline." My mother, who used to be a Dobson fan (see? - don't even wonder why I'm fucking nuts), has given him up since he's turned out to be crazier than a shithouse rat and not the nice old kindly Christian pediatrician she believed him to be. After years of my sending her a steady diet of one insane Dobson quote after another to digest, she finally decided to give me her copy as proof I had finally succeeded in driving a wedge between her and the good doctor.

I spent the entire dinner reading from his dictionary of "narcotics terms." My favorite "narcotics term" was "gay," which means "homosexual," in case you're interested.

ShaSis: Good for your momma! So many of my poor, deceived brothers and sisters in Christ have yet to see through false prophets such as Dobson. The fascist messages of this generation of vipers have about as much to do with the true teachings of Jesus as Mickey D's has to do with good nutrition. For a REAL Christian perspective on family matters, go to jesusonthefamily.org, Dr. Teresa Whitehurst's site. She rocks!

Still, I thought the ritual human sacrifice and Dobson's eating of the heart of Justice Stevens was a tad bit over the top.

But that's just me...

I think people often overlook the importance of grooming their pets as a way to contribute to their overall good health. Here are just a few more tips on pet grooming. You must groom your pets whole body including the legs, tail, and underbody if you want to do it right.
You must groom certain pets from the skin outward to truly be effective in taking care of their coat of hair and keeping it healthy. Comb through the unseen healthy hair and remove the shedding hair; this is what most groomers do first before cutting your pet's coat. You must groom some animals all at once while some other animals have so much hair that it is esier to do a little at a time each day. You know your pet is well mannerd when it will sit still and alow you or a professional to perform regular grooming and maintenence without any fuss. If you feel you just don't have the time or desire to do it yourself, its time to call the professionals. Your dog will love you for it, and you'll feel great about it too. Hope this was helpful.
