The Complete History of the Treatment of the Liberal Blogosphere by the Mainstream Media in 20 Seconds

The most important political writing lessons of the past few decades couldn't be clearer.

If you're a Liberal writer, you're pretty much screwed.  Here endeth that lesson.

If you're a garden-variety wind-sock pundit looking to pay the mortgage, never ever be right about anything too soon.

Beating on Liberals will pay your bills.

Beating on Conservatives will get you kicked to the curb, so when the stank from Conservative perfidy and sedition gets too much to bear, beat on Both Sides.

Always wait ... drafting along carefully just behind the media mass mind ... until the mainstream media clearly signals which direction they're headed.  Then, if you're feeling bold, get out every so slightly ahead of where they were going anyway.  Like a kitten running just a little out ahead of mama cat.

If you're feeling extra daring, use a few spicy adjectives.

That's it.

That's really all there is.

Of course by going along to get along you're contributing to the destruction of your own country, but then, as Stanislaw Jerzy Lec once said, "No snowflake in an avalanche ever feels responsible."

Behold, a Tip Jar!

If you're Ana Marie Cox you can pepper your work with earnest-sounding speeches and vulnerability-laced pleas for people not to criticize you. But you still have to load up on Never Trumper guests, and scold anyone who criticizes them.
