Of Course Paul Ryan Doesn't Want to be Prime Minister of the UK...

...but maybe if you ask him reeeeal nice...

From CNN:
Leading Brexiter Boris Johnson says he won't run for prime minister

London (CNN)The race to become Britain's next prime minister took a surprise twist Thursday as leading Brexit campaigner Boris Johnson, considered a frontrunner to replace the outgoing David Cameron, announced that he would not be running.

Having outlined the demands of the role to a room full of journalists in London, Johnson announced: "I have concluded that that person cannot be me."

The Conservative MP and former London mayor was a prominent voice in the campaign to lead Britain out of the European Union -- an endeavor many saw as partly an effort to position himself as the future leader of the ruling Conservative Party, and of the country.

Turns out, pyromaniacs suck at the boring business of governance on both sides of the Atlantic.

Since conservatives never cared about governance, just electoral victory and domination of the other, my guess is, since Johnson already backed off his immigration stand, he knows his ideas won't work, would immediately damage the British economy, and he'd be ousted within a year.

Boris Johnson has his idiotic qualities, but I don't believe he's mind-numbingly stupid. Former Mayor of London, Johnson knows that London, in general, and the City, in particular, most emphatically did not want to Leave the EU. This referendum is causing repercussions throughout the rich and the powerful in London, especially the City.

Johnson knows which side his bread is buttered on, and it ain't with disaffected Boomers in the hinterlands who are pining to return to the White Man's Burden of the Upstairs/Downstairs era.

May sound like Monday morning quarterbacking, but I had a hunch Johnson wouldn't run. The long-range odds aren't in his favor, and he may lose some powerful friends by doing so.

Not only the pyromaniacs; the Labour party can't get its act together either, from what I can gather. There is no way to predict what will happen out of all this at this point. This is an uncertain situation, being handled by inept twats at every turn. The smarted and evilest twats have stepped themselves out of the situation, like dickhead here. So it looks to be that this will be taken care of by the more inept twats, like In the Loop gone mad plus Monty Python. 2016: 'What if Satire was Real?'

Why would he want to be on the hook for fixing the damage? Also, I read that he didn't really want Brexit to win in the first place, that it was a campaign strategy to pry loose some seats in pro-Brexit areas after it lost.

this is making the British Soccer team look competent and well managed by comparison.

For all Boris Johnson is an arse, he was stabbed in the back by Michael Gove, who was to be campaign manager when he put himself forward and stole several key members of his team. Gove, you should know is an ex-Murdoch employee who remains very close to him and in his term in government he has savaged everything he could get his dirty mitts on. Education, Welfare, Justice and directly involved in the disgraceful lies in the recent Brexit referendum.
