Perhaps Something More Like This?

Damn.

I had just put the finishing touches on my first draft of "Caucasian Patriots of the West" (pictured above) -- my proposed replacement for the Miller Valley School mural that had angered a small, cranky minority of Prescott, AZ (my later drafts were going to feature Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jesus driving a Hummer) -- when the large, reasonable majority of Prescott, AZ pushed back.

Prescott Arizona Proves It Has A United Voice

One mural on an elementary school in Prescott, Arizona created quite the controversy after some questionable remarks made by Prescott's local councilman, Steve Blair on a Prescott radio show he hosted at KYCA. He was quoted as saying, "I'm not a racist by any stretch of the imagination, but whenever people start talking about diversity, it's a word I can't stand." He went into further detail of his opinions regarding the mural and its display of ethnic diversity, including remarks about President Obama. He was later fired from the radio show for his remarks after they made national news including but not limited to, USA Today, NY Daily News, AZCentral, and The Daily Courier. Shortly after these remarks the Principal of Miller Valley Elementary School, Jeff Lane, asked that the faces on the mural be lightened stating that it was not due to political pressure but for artistic reasons and "shading".

The community of Prescott immediately responded forming a protest that was held the morning of Saturday, June 5th. At the protest, Principal, Jeff Lane stated that he had made a mistake and praised the over 300 students that are members of the Mural Mice for their artistry and their efforts to remind Prescott of its diversity, which is a source of pride for Miller Valley Elementary School specifically. Superintendent, Kevin Kapp stated that he will now know that the faces on the wall have names. The crowd was assured that Mario and Elijah's faces will be re-painted to their original color.

Also too, beloved local kook, Steve "Shootmouth" Blair was relieved of the burden of speaking for the local kook community, thus freeing him to return to City Councilmanning full-time (From Prescott News):

Steve Blair Fired By KYCA

Steve Blair has been fired by KYCA, due to his comments regarding the new mural on Miller Valley School at the corner of Whipple Street and Miller Valley Road.

Besides being a City Councilman, Steve Blair is also a well-known afternoon talk show host for radio station KYCA. Well, make that "was" because he has been removed from his radio talk show as of today, due to a controversy over the mural painted on Miller Valley School.

The discussion about the mural has been controversial ever since the paint began being brushed on the wall. Now it's a full blown controversy, with statewide and even national media paying attention. Right now, the spotlight is on Blair, who made comments that some interpreted as being racist.

Thus further crippling my dreams of making a living as an opportunistic demagogue.

And proving, yet again, that it is indeed hard out here for a pimp.

I laugh at people who think the Civil War ended in 1865.

Glad to see at least one story coming out of AZ with a happy ending.

I know it is is very wrong of me, but seriously, Steve Blair makes me wish there was a secular liberal version of crossburning, because he needs to schooled in a very unpleasant way.

Remember the skin lightening cream that used to be sold to the black community? I suggest mailing a jar to Mr. Blair with a note something like, "We got your esthetics right here, pal."
