If the results of the policies of the Fergus administration degrade the lives of enough non-voters, they will vote to elect someone who they think will arrest the damage.
They cannot be counted on to elect someone to fix the damage, as that requires too much self awareness in areas they would rather not see illumination.
Our job, then, is to embody both without them having to be the wiser to vote for us. As you have repeatedly suggested, just lie to them. They will at least find that comfortingly familiar.
Those MAGAs from the interview? They are addicted, and as such, will reflexively defend their addiction far past the point where it is obviously, actively harming them.
They, like untold other addicts, will defend their addiction from the tent under the overpass it has led them to. All we can do for them is to try and make help available in case they ever accidentally avail themselves of it. There are more effective interventions, but we can't have them here in America.
So Fergus, who regularly has time for rounds of golf and shitposting marathons, didn't attend his son's wedding.
Perhaps he was afraid he would be killed.
I certainly hope so.
I am not advocating his assassination.
I just don't want him to have a moment's peace without mortal terror for the rest of his hopefully long existence.
Thank you again for the podcast.
I'm going to try and send you another cat picture, but I have to dig it out of a text and get it into an email first, so it might be a minute.
