Fergus is not only demented, he was fucking stupid before his mind started going. I feel like we have a decent shot at undoing most of his fucked-in-the-head policies (he's not really a policy guy) but the damage they have done to our relationship with the rest of the world probably will persist for the rest of my life.

Try not to be too hard on yourselves over taking guff from listeners that say you either got it wrong or minimized it.
Covering the 60's in all its glory us a daunting task best left to historian professionals.
I should know, I grew up a wild dirty Hippie in the SF bay area during that time. Even I did not grasp its entirety at the time.
I do know the superior racism, corrupt business world,, the direction of Then Prez Nixon , his VP and the GOP of the time including the religious zealots absolutely shit their pants and lost it over their inability to control and use government in every way legal and illegal to force people to live in their cookie cutter mold. They realized their reign on Americans was limited and not one thing they could do to stop or change. But oh how they tried and tried.
Like today, they call MAGA the real Americans is how they would use that to demean the long haired dirty Hippie Hippies. It was economic, it was young generation movement to change, it was MLK's defined freedom, it was the promise of the future JFK aired. War of attrition. We didn't care to wait for the Southern racial states to get around to discarding their arrogant white superiority. To make the world and safer where we could. live reasonable sane lives.
The music was a driver and it was mostly meaningful to a cause. Something the old crony generation could not understand or interpret.

Ask any GOP congressman . If the president is a unitary president. Why is congress needed? Why is the SCOTUS required? For that matter, why does a unitary president require a cabinet tp head Departments when he can simply order the department to do as he says. No need for a drunken Hegseth when the unitary president orders his generals to obey his orders. No explanation needed. The All knowing Prez will be clear on his demands and if not, everyone will know what he means when he mumbles of texts.Om the Bible, God did ot have to go to extremes with the people over the tower of Babel.
