Happy 65th Birthday, driftglass!
Happy birthday, happy Halloween, and get better soon.
So let me get this straight: we're supposed to "moderate" our policy positions in order to win the support of folks who (checks notes) don't know or care about policy until after it actually takes a big honkin bite out of their nether regions?
Couldn't we, you know, talk about something they actually did care about if we decide we are really concerned about their support? Isn't that pretty much the definition of politics?
(From my civics class in 1979: "Political behavior is any action taken in order to try to change the opinion of someone else.")
I have a long and sordid story about that class, but I will spare you just now.
Thank you again for the podcast. The damn cat brought another mouse in and let it go last night. We set the box trap with some shredded cheese (we don't have any peanut butter) but so far it hasn't done anything besides chew holes in stuff that shouldn't have holes...
