This has really been a week for misinformation and panicked reaction, especially among the rapture-curious who DIDN'T READ THE DAMN BOOK. Listen, I'm a goddamn atheist and even I know that it says in the book that nobody, not even the angels, know the day or the hour... But if you see it on You Tube... Not that I have anything against You Tube, you can get almost any song ever recorded there. When I think of all of the money I spent over the years on records and devices to play them on, I fucking love You Tube. Except for the ads. Fuck the ads. The good news is that the vicious capitalism overcame the mindless bigotry and Nextstar and Sinclair both caved and put Kimmel back on. You mean nuking one of your most popular products isn't good business? I mean, I understand that the MAGA base doesn't know what good business is because they are led to believe that Fergus was good at it, but the media ceos? Those bastards all know better, and only defer to the spread of propaganda because they really want that to happen. And they didn't foresee the backlash that boosted Kimmel's viewership (fuck calling it ratings) past what it otherwise would have been. The only thing from Kimmel I have watched (again, on You Tube, I've never owned a television) this year was his return monologue. Yes, Fergus is deteriorating visibly right out there in front of god and everyone. It seems like half of his supporters are in Fox-enabled denial, and half of them like it just fine. To them it's just another aspect of the proof that all of those experts and eggheads who they feel denigrated by are wrong. Fergus can be a gibbering mess and still things are "just fine" in their estimation. Crack The Sky has a song from 1988 called From the Greenhouse where they say:
The president's hiding on a submarine See how he runs away from history I won't believe it till they disappear I won't believe it till I disappear
and
I won't believe you till I disappear
That kind of sums them up fairly well. Thank you again for the podcast. Some things can't be shown anyway, especially to the willfully blind, so their options are limited. My friend Raven's cat Molly, who was once IKotW, has gone missing. Think a good thought or two for them if you get around to it.
