There is some messaging from the left I feel requires a slight alteration.
Example:
The Right decided that they would stand united on the lie that J6 was a beautiful peaceful protest. They it was no different than a normal tourist day . They actually went to prisons and supported the convicted by a jury of their peers. Trump pardons all of them and the GOP effectively enables the lie by either outright lying or avoiding the topic.
So when the right scream about the poor multi billionaire whose Tesla auto company is having vandalism inflicted on his cars because he is an innocent right winger who did nothing.
The messaging should be as outrageous as the J6 lie.
That the protests are just only family days of religious fun days. The vandalism on the Tesla never happened and if it did. It was dome by MAGA and the white supremacists trying to make it appear ANTIFA did it.
Promise to pardon anyone convicted of Tesla vandalism because of weaponized Government right wing deep state.
Give them a taste of their own snake oil.
It is the reverse - reverse psychology. Tell them in the form of a lie that the lie is a lie. It is how the MAGA are wired. The lie against government for them is always the default button.
Every time I hear about Jan Schakowsky, I think of the lead singer for the band The War on Drugs, Adam Granduciel. Whose real name is Adam Granofsky, but he was convinced by a friend to French-ify the "of sky" part to "du ciel"...
Generational turnover can be messy, but as an old white guy, I have to say that it is time.
The level of straight up grift in the goddamn white house is fucking obscene. It would be nice to think that something legislative could eventually be done to rein it in, but it's kind of a long way down that to-do list, and I don't feel especially hopeful about it.
I read yesterday that the band REM just remixed and rereleased their song "Radio Free Europe" with all of the proceeds going to the recently defunded organization of the same name.
RFE's leader said that while the funding won't be seriously affected, the morale boost is welcome.
Thank you again for the podcast, and good luck with the extracurricular activities. It's just me and the cat holding down the fort for a while, and I managed to get my Von's grocery delivery yesterday, so we seem to be good for another week.
