Is Kristen Welker Very Good at Her Job...

...or very bad at her job?

On Sunday, Donald Trump's lies roll over her like the mighty Mississippi, and there was Welker, once again completely (to mix a metaphor) at sea, discovering again (but as if for the first time), that when you giving a lying sociopath a microphone, they're not going to observe all your quaint journalistic niceties. They're going to blow right on past them while you flop around like a fish on the dock.

Here, are a selection of Welker's impotent attempts to corral Trump into admitting that the J6 thugs and traitors he plans to pardon are, in fact thugs and traitors (h/t Crooks and Liars who have the video and entire exchange):

KRISTEN WELKER:  Well, you know —

KRISTEN WELKER:  But —

KRISTEN WELKER:  I just want to —

KRISTEN WELKER:  Yeah.

KRISTEN WELKER:  Let me just —

KRISTEN WELKER:  But let me —

KRISTEN WELKER:  Okay. Let’s move on —

NBC hired themselves another Chuck Todd.  Another David Gregory.  Which answers the question, whether or not Welker is good at her job.  The answer is, she's good at the job that NBC hired her to do: sit in that chair and perform an empty Beltway ritual which might, when glanced for a moment from a great distance through very dirty glasses, be mistaken for journalism.

Finally, I see we're back to the legacy media trying to do make-goods on their televised failures by performing another empty Beltway ritual: ex post facto fact-checking.

Fact-checking Trump's interview with 'Meet the Press'

The president-elect discussed the major policy priorities for his second term and made several false, misleading or exaggerated claims along the way.

Which is as useful as going home and yelling into a pillow after the bully has slapped you around and stolen your lunch money.  Again.

The Sunday Showz: As useless as a MoveOn petition.

The mistake is not seeing them for what they are: people hired to *play act* as journalists on the screen. The producers get what they want and maybe the populace too?

Don't think the main media get that people like me do not need to see and hear Trump interviews.
The guy lies and then lies about the lies. While accusing everyone else of lying and cheering and subversion.
Who he really CARES ABUT ARE PEOPLE LIKE Putin. not American PEOPLE, NOT THE MIDDLE CLASS AND PERHAPS SOME OF THE BILLIONAIRES THAT PURCHASED HIS ELECTION.
Remember when he said he was very wealthy, doesn't need to be president and doesn't need any of those stinky billionaires money that would cause him to do their bidding???

Like with his immigration Holocaust round up.
He dd say anyone helping abet immigrants he will get them too.
So where did anyone of the press ask him, "If you find businesses purposely hiring these immigrants, is that abetting and will you found them up as well for supporting their existence in America?" ( you know, hiring them for the cheap labor).
Qill Space force be subjected to you budget cuts? Will you cut funding and manpower to eliminate government monitoring and space traffic cop of all the satellites orbiting Earth and shift the burden of taking care of these satellites back onto Elon Musk who just launched a bunch of communication stateliest for his Starlin company that profits from government grants?)

But the paparazzi and tabloid media just knows there are subjects and questions that are too hard for the public citizens to understand.
We need reporting on what did the :D: have for lunch, how he actually met with his wife at his golf course, who his son is having an affair with. ' Well, you get the drift.

I loved how she pushed trump to name the actual crimes committed by the J6 committee members he promises to prosecute and jail.

Oh, wait...
