Beg pardon for beginning my post with pure old-fart grouchiness but JEEBUS CRIPES THESE FUCKING ASSHOLES.

I web searched for the author's name after reading the article, and felt every nano-chortle of mirthless laughter in the known universe to discover that she is a Republican political consultant and former lobbyist. In fact she seems to have been Press Sec. for VP Dick Cheney.
Sure, let's just let Trump off scot-free, so long as he says, "Oops sorry, I did lose 2020 and this election." There are reams of excuses deployed for why this would be a good idea.
My political memory isn't long. I relate this to the pardon of Nixon by Ford, which I (among many others) consider an historic (and history-breaking) error. And Ms. Glover's suggestion is to simply do that again, with higher stakes and worse consequences.
I credit not at all her supposition that Trump's honesty would move the GOP base. Trump could declare unequivocally on every TV station and web channel in this country that he had lost 2020 and 2024 - they'd have CTs stating the Deep State got to him (maybe put a 5G chip in his head) before the week was out. He would still be The Great Man, and they'd still have to go right on hating liberals "for the Trumper." (Updated Gipper.)
I'll give Ms. Glover one credit. According to the Wiki page on her, she has endorsed VP Harris in the 2024 GE.
Anyway, sorry. Politico being Politico, and a Republican being a Republican.

There was a moment last night that I felt should have been much more important to this election than it will end up being:
When Kamala Harris walked onstage in Houston in front of 30,000 cheering people and got hugs from Beyonce and her sister. You could tell that her feet were barely touching the ground, and she looked more human than any candidate for president I've seen.
Will it make a difference a week from Tuesday? I don't really know for sure, but god damn it, she's doing everything right.
And he's doing everything wrong.
And still they say it's a dead heat.
And Tucker, "Daddy comes home" really isn't the flex you think it is when applied to someone who has said he wanted to fuck his own daughter.

Some things still are not negotiable, and I would like to keep it that way. On that note, I voted three weeks ago, got the email from the state SOS saying my ballots had been received and counted, and Briana came back last night and mailed her ballots in today. I know that we're not going to influence the outcome of the presidential race in California, but you don't let that sway you. You fucking vote.
