The entire time I watched the SOTU I wondered what your reactions and comments would be. Thank You!
Give me a call to see if my sponsorship, that's Doctor Bob's Budget Brain Surgery, might be a good fit for your blog.
Let me preface this by saying that I was a Warren supporter in the 2020 primary.
This speech really made me think of South Carolina in 2020. All of the breathless reporting about how big of a win it was and how that all of the sudden changed everything.
Joe Biden was always going to win the South Carolina primary, and all of those people acting as if that wasn't as obvious as their nose in front of their face were either too dumb about politics to know the very obvious, or had some agenda to push.
This speech didn't surprise me. It made me smile a lot, but I was ready for that. I'm a goddamn Democrat, and I am aware enough to know when I'm getting my own way. Biden, as president, has given me more of my own way than Warren could have. He was right and I was wrong. And that's what makes me a goddamn Democrat, I can face up to being wrong, especially when I have a better option and I can support them.
Biden used to give me hope when he pushed his former boss to do the right thing, and I agree that he has set up his VP to do the same thing to him.
I believe, as Sarah Vowell said about elitism, that the people who know stuff should be running things, and on most issues, that's not me.
Does that make me a mindless follower like the MAGA morons? Nope. Unlike them, I still respond to objective reality, and while I may give this president more leeway in his decision making than I am comfortable with some times, my description of the world hasn't really budged, and when he's wrong, he's wrong.
Something something come to jesus moment, if I read the news right today.
Thanks for the extra podcast.

What is a special SOTU podcast without a special SOTU Katie Britt Response Science Fiction Theater?
Using many of the eerily historic science fiction movie sound effects.
As it is the day before Monday.
Sunday Sermon at you if you dare.

And no. We do not know for a fact if the numbers 666 are on the back of his neck. But malania might know.
