“I'm not writing to make conservatives happy. I want them to hate my opinions. I'm not interested in debating them. I want to stop them.” -- Steve Gilliard

From a long-time listener: this was one of your best. Cheers!
Didn't Ana Marie Cox seize up on an airplane and Liz Cheney helped her or something? I tried to look it up, but couldn't find it.
Frank would have approved of Kevin leaving the government.
The failure to distinguish reality from fiction is a major problem in this country right now, and I never dreamed I would become such a passionate defender of reality. But here we are.
I liked the reaction on Twitter to Rama-lama-ding-dong saying J6 was an inside job: "And it went to the highest levels of the executive branch..."
At least since the open enrollment is over the ads for rapacious Medicare Advantage Plans have subsided. When I was in the hospital from my stroke, I had no insurance, and that was somewhat stressful, but not nearly as stressful as what some of my fellow patients were going through having to fight their goddamn insurance companies for every dime spent on their recovery, during the only shot you ever get at the initial recovery. That left an impression on me.
And that was pre-ACA, so perhaps insurance has improved since then, but as long as the primary reason for insurers to exist is to make a profit, health outcomes will take a back seat.
Thank you again for the podcast. I managed to see Frank Zappa perform three times while he was still in this world, and one of them was on his birthday, a foreshadowing of the Zappadan miracles to come. The miracle that night was watching Ike Willis hold a note for three quarters of a rotation of the round stage at the Circle Star Theater during their rendition of "Whipping Post."
That and seeing Glen Campbell perform the next night in Reno, but that is a different story.

Republicans in congress (And family) that have their heath care paid for by tax payers, (socialism) and their paid staffers and their families/
Republican veterans who have their health care paid for by tax payers hold that GOP position.
Do not even think, those tax payers who pay their health care should be able to at least have access to affordable health care that actually covers things.
Hi, DG - I got a text message today from a Democratic fundraiser that I thought might amuse and/or enrage you and Blue Gal. Thought I'd share:
"DON'T ABANDON LIZ CHENEY! Not ONE local Dem signed our card to thank Cheney for standing up to Trump!

Needless to say, I did not respond.
Happy Holidays to you and your family!
