After 40 years of poisoning public discourse, relentlessly demonizing their
opposition and teaching their voting base that their paranoia and racism was
actually patriotism and that they should never believe anyone who told them anything
that made them sad or uncomfortable, in 2015 the Republican's very own Monster
from the Id came slouching down the escalator to take control of their party.
And now he is running again. The greatest threat to American democracy
since the Civil War. And the very best defense against this monster they
created that his primary opponents can summon is a tepid variation of Nicole
Wallace's, "My former boss, whatever you thought of him" apologia of the previous worst
president in modern history, Republican George W. Bush.
Given these realities, Nikki Haley on the
Christian Broadcasting Network three days ago outlining her three-pronged strategy for getting at least some of the bigots
and imbeciles that comprise the Republican base to vote for her should come as no surprise.
First, praise Il Douche and make sure the base knows that she will never pass
any negative judgement on his actions (or theirs) in any way. It's just
that, for some inexplicable reason, bad things happen around him. Follow
him around. Like a poltergeist.
But what I will tell you is I think President Trump was the right president
at the right time. I agree with a lot of his policies. I had a good working
relationship with him. But rightly or wrongly, chaos follows him.
Second, absolutely do not identify Republican bigots and imbeciles as bigots
and imbeciles. We've had quite enough of [checks notes] calling things
by their correct names.
...first of all, I don’t think we need to label members of the Republican
Party. I think that’s happened for too long.
Third, for fuck's sake people, you know the rule! No Fair Remembering
Stuff!
...we need to start answering the issues of tomorrow and not looking back
to the past. And we can’t keep going back to that negativity and baggage
of the past.
Like every other politician and media person who still envisions a future for
themselves in the Republican sewer, for Nikki Haley there is no way forward except cowardice,
complicity and the saccharine flattering of ghouls who should horrify you.

It is fascinating seeing the conflict within the GOP, Haley is the chosen figurehead by McConnell and the GOP donor base, they want her to win so that they can pass their tax cuts and appear on stage and TV without, as my Dad would say, scaring the horses. Unfortunately, she has to deal with an electorate that loves her main opponent, Mr Let's shout boo at horses.
It looks like their strategy is to not annoy the crazies and hope that Trump's legal issues make him look less favourable and her as a reasonable second choice.
In what world do people like Haley think the angry white guy who has for several years now made substantial emotional and financial investments in Trump hats, flags, trading cards, rapes, crimes, lies going to choose someone else?
A humble opinion,
Niki is two things in one for the GOP mega donors.
First, she is insurance policy. In case the orange disaster actually gets legally held accountable. and is either damaged in public voting opinion enough to predict another lose so she could step in and herd the GOP zombie horde.
Second, Niki is an investment for the future GOP nomination no matter Former mistake guy is no longer viable in the 2038 presidential election. That the GOP will be able to remarket what was the Tea Party base then the MAGA / QANIN base of the Donald Cult. They can market a new base. tailor made for the Niki and can be advertised as Grass rootsie.
She is as rewired for the GOP wealthy donor base. Absent of morals, Greed, self centeredness, willingness to commit crime and harm for that financial support. The brainless ability to accept, agree and sell what she will (and is paid to ) perform.
DeSantis lost this interest in investment from these
GOP donot class. His political future is waiting for someone to flip the flush lever on the toilet to remove the stench. None, None of the the other GOP wana-be candidates shown they cannnot markert and sell drinking of the Kool aid. They see Niki as having the basic requirements of a GW Bush in panties.
There is NO republican candidate that cares of the American people unless you consider they "believe" the American people are the GOP mega donors and everyone else, are rabble, unworthy like they se and clearly express of their immortal enemy. What most do not recognize is that FDR's era took 5 presidential terms to make America actually great as it ever was. Something we cannot have in this day and age.
The last time America was gifted with a Democratic majority in the House and Senate with a Democratic president, Brought us affordable Care Act. No, not perfect and defiantly the framework for improving and Amending into something better without having to first create a framework. The GOP put their duckets into the Supreme Court to overturn the ACA for them. Which should have slapped everyone in the face with how the GOP perceived the use and control of the SCOTUS for their extra GOP insurance against anything their GOP donors did not want. It is why they stacked the high court by contracting it out to the Federalist Society that has more control of the justices on the court to do their bidding. How long before the SCOTUS asks for a legal case challenging the legality of Social Security and Medicare?
So they can rule it was legislated Unconstitutionally and strike it down on that excuse?
The SCOTUS has ruled rich people can bribe and corrupt with their money as long as the call it free speech.
They ruled and chose GW Bush as president over the voters by over riding a state's right where the state Supreme court ruled to return and count all the ballots.
And America bent over and had the broomstick rammed without a lubricant. Did what about it?
The blocking a SCOTUS nominee of a president for 14 months. To vote and confirm a SCOTUS nominee while voters in cerein states had already began casting their presidential ballot and Confirming senate votes.
Again. Americans did not respond in mass. Some were so drunk on right wing propaganda and others too disgusted threw up their hands and decided nothing to be done.

I have strong concerns that Amrica will NOT be able to hold an former president accountable as Sen. McConnell espouse so pathetically eloquently that the courts can hold him accountable. That by McConnell pulling favors and begging his colleagues in the senate to not hold him accountable on his impeachment.
In a twisted Pilate washing his hands of doing the deed to Jesus but in McConnell's case. Not doing the deed and leaving it up to someone else to uphold his oath of office and defending the constitution as he swore on his Bible he would and did the opposite.
As the contracted Federalist Society SCOTUS justices will overturn the Colorado state rights to ensure Trump is on the ballot. They will also will seek to quote a ball of dung that is not in the constitution but tell us Trump has some immunity specific to him (but not for Biden) in this one single time exception that is not precedent setting.
That they will enable they delay game in hope of Trump's reelection so he can have his hoakie DOJ Atty Gen. revoke the indictment if elected. They are the Supremes and life time positions who have already ruled they are above the law. As they showed they will not expedite Jack Smith's reasonable request for the high court to take the issue and settle it now instead of providing more delay time.
I foresee the notion that in a Trump loss that he will make up election nonsense and put it before the SCOTUS. He wile speaker Johnson doing (his) Lord's work to commit election fraud for his chosen one. He already showed he will act in such manner and walk away unscathed and promoted to speaker at that.
The most ridiculous issue of all at this time of America being around. That SCOTUS and the lower courts need to drag the idea of Trump immunity and rule on it.
A matter that is clear and should not have to try and figure out a way to NOT rule but provide "a guidance of rule on a one time non president setting bouquet of flowery words from the Federalist Society to protect the greatest and smartest republican to walk the universe.
We all know it to be true, president is not above the law. Even republican ones. But they have never ruled on it and why should they since it is established law. But then again, Roe V Wade was established law.
It was Right wing majority SCOTUS justices that ruled Citizens United so their party could use dark money (and lots of it) to stack the SCOTUS as needed. Same money is gerrymandering and suppressing votes for GOP. Same money buys Justice Thomas luxury gifts for predicted case outcomes. They rule their corruption is legal and so it is.
Even if any of his federal crime cases trials begin and end with conviction. He gets to appeal it as if he was never convicted and again, the SCOTUS rules over a jury of Trump's peers. While he appeals after conviction if elected. His Hoakie AG will take care of it. Like having a judge fix a ticket for a special person and that same special person screams and demands letter of law enforce on other drivers who get tickets.
Thomas will probably refuse to recuse himself knowing he and most of America realizes his wife was tits high involved in the overturning of the elation which was in part of the insurrection violence of J6. She was in on it and to consider Thomas was not as well is fools gold.
Oh sure, the state cases will go on. Does he see jail time? He is a former president they say.
Worst is this mantra about how itf he is convicted and sent to prison which may turnn out to be home confinment at the MAGA Lago.
