G'd afternoon DG and BG!

It's likely to be a tumultuous summer indeed, for many reasons. Trump indictments, lots of noise about that. No argument.

But let me tell ya 'bout the rollercoaster the NYT and WaPo are about to take us on!

From Newsweek (that well known liberal dishrag!): Ron DeSantis' Approval Rating Has Collapsed

PA-TOOIE!

Now you know where I'm going with this, right?

The legacy outlets, to all appearances, are sympathetic to Republicans. We can debate whether it's cowardice, complicity, or simply staggering incompetence (I'm going with D - All of the above), but the net result is the same. However, they just cannot handle the Trump stink.

(I mean, the NYT is making a game attempt. Their MOMENTOUS SCENE article was carefully framed with a headline and lead photo to look almost like a victory for Trump. How impartial of them.)

So the rollercoaster will be, "WHO IS THE REPUBLICAN "NOMINEE?

(Guys, it's going to be Trump.)

"Can Governor Ron DeSantis correct his tailspin in the polls?"

(Nope, it'll be Trump.)

"Will Vivek Ramaswamy's outsider campaign fare better than Andrew Yang's?"

(Nope, still Trump.)

"Will Senator Tim Scott gain traction with the Republican base?"

(LOL are you fucking kidding me right now?)

"Sen. Asa Hutchinson..."

(GUYS. STOP. It's almost certain to be Trump and you all know it.)

Obviously things can change; the future's not set, "no fate but what we make," and all that (cool movie). But absent some momentous upheaval, Trump's the nominee...

... but the big news outlets will be on a daily rollercoaster trying to inject some drama into that potential outcome.

In summary and in conclusion, the US MSM has been awful, is awful, and will remain awful. This is why lefty bloggers are so important. The end. (We love you, DG and BG!)

Here is some music, because metal is awesome.

Thanks for all you do.

The Net Roots Delays is a lovely old chestnut. I amuse myself with it often.

If I had a punk band, I would name it Net Root Delay. I'm with Blue Gal, if I never hear Fergus' voice again it will still be too soon. And yes, MSNBC, I understand that most of your viewers have jobs and shit and therefore haven't already done extensive reading on all of the stories you cover before you air them (cable them? What "air", exactly?), but your "all Fergus, all the time" programming format has gotten hella old. There are many other things going on in the world, and you are still giving the despicable fuck free media, even when you criticize him.
Hurrah for J.B.! And for librarians!
Thank you again for the podcast. The cat murdered a flying squirrel. I was a little surprised, as the cat has gained some weight over the snowed-in winter and spring, but the squirrel was kinda pudgy also, so maybe that explains it.
