Jesse Watters and The Tribe That Rubs Shit In Their Hair

Light blogging today.  As you may have heard, we had a derecho rip through the area yesterday packing nearly 100-mph straight line winds:

Winds within a derecho can be as strong as a tornado, knocking out trees, powerlines, mobile homes, barns and other similar structures, according to the Storm Prediction Center. They are most dangerous to those outdoors, whether in a rural or urban area.

It flattened and splintered I don't know how many hundreds of trees, and took down power lines all over the area.  Power is still down for 1/3 of Springfield and may remain so until Saturday or Sunday :-( so at the moment we're using wattage and wifi at the public library, because public libraries are awesome.

And now, Jesse Watters!

But first a brief refresher on your favorite cult and mine, the Tribe That Rubs Shit In Their Hair:

Longtime readers know that "The Tribe That Rubs Shit In Their Hair" is my shorthand for inbred Conservative meatsticks who have wallowed in wingnut Hate Radio racist dung and Fox News Liberal Conspiracy claptrap for so long that is has become the quotidian argot of their wretched lives. It is their tavern-talk -- their worst, paranoid delusions, externalized, validated, tarted up as The Unvarnished Truth and then regurgitated back to them by ghouls and treason-mongers like Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly... which are, in turn, passed around again like so many fish stories, getting bigger and wilder and truthier with each iteration. It is the shit they eagerly rub in their hair -- the shit which, year after year, they sculpt into ever more elaborate pompadours because everyone else in their dingy, lightless corner of Universe is doing it and they lost their sense of smell 40 years ago.

They preen over each other. They are happy in each other's company. They praise each other on the little, individual touches with which they have customized their Shitheap Toupees -- an extra layer of Benghaaaazi, perhaps, appliqued over something something the New Black Panther Party because ACORN!.

And all's right with the world...right up until they leave the cocoon of their Wingnut Pig Sty and step into the normal world, where they are Shocked!Shocked! that ordinary people flee from them in horror.

From CNN yesterday:

Jesse Watters was invited to speak before a group of executives. His remarks led to an ‘epic meltdown’

On a Friday morning in April, Fox News talk host Jesse Watters walked onstage to a room stuffed with hundreds of insurance executives and agents. Watters was the featured speaker at a breakfast for the Big “I” Legislative Conference, the signature annual event hosted by the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America, where he was invited to participate in an interview with the organization’s retiring president, Bob Rusbuldt.

Watters — who Fox News this week promoted to the all-important 8pm hour — began his interview with Rusbuldt at the Renaissance Washington hotel as expected. The gathered audience, which included a healthy contingent of conservatives, was excited to see Watters speak. But matters quickly took a turn, according to people familiar with the matter who spoke to me on the condition of anonymity.

Watters, who has a history of making offensive remarks on Fox News, made a crude comment questioning the gender of Vice President Kamala Harris, the people said. The gross attempt at humor prompted some laughs, but also outrage.

Some executives, many of whom planned to attend a diversity and inclusion luncheon later in the day, squirmed in their seats as a wave of awkwardness washed over the audience. Others walked out of the room and conveyed to the trade association that they were appalled at the behavior exhibited by Watters.

“It was an epic meltdown afterward,” one of the people familiar with the matter told me. “The organization went into damage control.”...

So of course this is the shitbag that Fox News swapped into Tucker Carlson's spot, because he can deliver the sauce that the Pig People want.

Because they all live in the same cave, spiralling down and down and down together, thinking their depravity is normal because all they ever do it watch fascist media and the only friends they have are garbage people like themselves.

And there is absolutely nothing that can break this cycle or bring them back to sanity, because if their dealer fails to deliver the toxic drool that they crave, they're just change the channel and find someone who will.

Yesterday, after the storm had scythed through the city and nobody knew anything, I sat in the car scanning local radio looking for any news about what had just happened.  There was nothing.  Local NPR was playing classical music.  The many, many local Jesus stations were talking about hellfire and salvation.  And the one station -- WMAY  -- that, for years, advertised as "Live and Local" is neither anymore, having just accepted the resignation of Jim Leach, the last, nominally Liberal voice on the radio anywhere around here for a hundred miles in any direction.

The slot that Jim had occupied for nearly 30 years has been gifted to Erick Erickson's wingnut clown show.

Which means that Blue Gal and I are now, literally, the only Liberal Media here in the middle of middle America.

So, instead of "Live and Local" news about a disaster that was unfolding live and locally, I got an earful of anti-vax madness and some Mark Levin-wannabe rising to the defense of someone named "Dana", which had to be a reference to the odious Dana Loesch, who is also syndicated on the formerly-"Live and Local" station.

A while later I tried again and this time it was breathless "Biden Crime Family" coverage which, we were were assured, would be a bigger scandal and wider conspiracy that anything ever!!!

What can I say?

WMAY knows their audience: the local contingent of the Tribe That Rubs Shit In Their Hair.  Reprogrammable meatbags who have been trained by decades of Hannityes and Limbaughs and Loesches and Ericksons shitting into their skulls that any facts that contradict their delusions are Fake News.  That anyone who tries to reason with them is a dirty Soros commie Libtard.  And anyone within their own ranks who finally can't take it anymore and tries to nudge them even slightly off of the trajectory they are on is worse than a dirty Soros commie Libtard: they're a sellout Judas traitor who is now making common cause with us dirty Soros commie Libtards.

I Am The Liberal Media

Very glad you're okay, and sorry for the disruption.

The intentional demise of local (and locally relevant) media has many terrible knock-on effects. The people who set it into motion, even tangentially (at first) in their quest for power, surely enjoy the (from their perspective) benefits of this silencing of local voices. (And the grift goes on.)

FWIW, web news does have some hits on this storm and its aftereffects. I must say it's bitterly hilarious that any such news which happens to be on Twitter is now unavailable to me, since Twitter is blocking anyone without an account from seeing tweets. Preventing Twitter from reaching a broader audience? I'm sure that can only end well!

Also the worst SCOTUS since Taney just took big steaming shits all over college students and LGBTQIA+ folks, as I'm sure you've heard.

In summary and in conclusion, our corrupt media sucks, our corrupt justice system sucks, and liberal blogs - however biased you may be - remain some of the best sources of honest reporting and journalistic analysis in these beleaguered "United" States.

And yeah, that's really fucking sad - but I'm glad y'all and your dirty unwashed Commie/Socialist colleagues continue to hold up some light in the darkness.

We see you.

In part, I view the FOX and the Jesse Waters right wing media in all the funded efforts of the wealthy who lost what they feel is their wealth GOD given right to rule over the people like their families once did during the Hoover years.
GDFR is the culprit and they have worked at erasing FDR's accomplishments ever since. They have passed down the inheritance mantle of owning America and Americans. You see in Hoover hears, that constitution part of, "we the People"",
haunts them to this day. Striking down everything beginning with FDR is what they are after and fund even NAZIS to fight their ambitious return to ownership of America.
They are the American oligarchs except unlike Russia they require no Putinesque figure in their dictatorship.

Having more money means things. how accountable to laws you are to their demands on how they want others to live in their minds.
Not all wealthy are like this but enough . It is why they pay no taxes and can purchase any needy elected official vulnerable and they make finance political ambitions high finance requirement.

It takes money to finance campaigns of marge rhea toes, matt The Geatz, Beobert the Boob and the likes of the Grim Reaper himself.
It costs lots of money to nurture vulnerable minds to vote and support such Anarchy.
They purchased the SCOTUS and now rely on people to accept their installed people pretending to be legal legal minds calling balls and strikes while being the groomed, paid and owned partisan guised deciders of balls and strikes.
Even when they told us before they became into power they have. What they would do.
I will overturn such and such as a SCOTUS justice before hearing any specific case and oh by the way, these other issues need to go so send us lathe legal cases no matter how foul or off the plate the pitch is tossed. We will call it a strike for our team because we are about beating the other team for owe umpires plantation owners.

The notion of returning to Hoover-ville or Shanty Town because the powers that be have been drugged into "believing" it is the best natural state for us to live in by those who live on a different planet. Who will tell you that depressed sate of living will cause us to embrace religion and be a religious moral people because of the hope despair will bring us is a convoluted notion people like Jesse Waters or those like him think it would be for someone else. Not themselves.
This is where I begin to sing silently in my head. "Always look to the bright side of life".

So Jesse Waters talks at an insurance conference, provides the expected red meat to the listeners, and people are surprised and upset?

I read about your big windstorm from here in Texas. Glad you came through OK. In case you haven't seen it, here's an OP-ED from today's local paper that seemed to echo many of your cautions (abbreviated a bit due to your character limit);

Follow the money: No Labels can’t hide its right-wing ties
BY JENNIFER RUBIN

THE WASHINGTON POST

Follow the money. Just as it applies to investigating illegal schemes, that advice can also help unravel political con jobs. And these days, one of the biggest cons in 2024 presidential jockeying is the innocuously named No Labels organization. It was founded in 2010 to counter political polarization but now has started raising a boatload of money – at least $70 million so far – to field a third-party presidential candidate if the “unacceptable” President Biden and Donald Trump are their parties’ nominees.

What’s the group really after, given the utterly dismal record of third-party candidates in U.S. presidential elections?

As an analysis by the moderate Democratic think tank Third Way has shown, No Labels doesn’t get close to the necessary 270 electoral votes in any remotely rational scenario. But the group has drawn up a fantasy map showing 40 states it supposedly could win. Members of the Democratic coalition are alarmed; three of their leaders wrote in a recent Post op-ed that No Labels is “obviously targeting blue states and Democratic voters” because on the map “two-thirds of its electoral votes would come from Biden states.”
No Labels insists it isn’t a Republican front group. But it won’t reveal its donors despite complaints about the lack of transparency. “No Labels is essentially running a presidential campaign without the requirements that apply to formal political parties; namely disclosures,” Politico noted last week.

Despite the group’s insistence on keeping its backers secret, dogged reporting has found strong connections to Republicans. Mother Jones followed the money. It found that CEOs of some major corporations have forked over substantial money to No Labels. And while the No Labels donor list does include a few rich people who have given to Democrats, it tends heavily toward those “who contributed millions of dollars to Republican causes, such as past GOP presidential candidates and super-PACS connected to Republican congressional leadership,” Mother Jones reported.

One of the donors “provided a big chunk of political cash to Donald Trump,” according to the article. “No Labels supporters, who mostly made contributions of $5,600 to its 2024 project, appear to favor conservative candidates, though many have played both sides of the aisle, financing Republican and Democratic politicians,” Mother Jones found.

Mother Jones’ David Corn has found that No Labels is associated with some significant Republican-aligned outfits. Its online fundraising is run by Anedot, founded by a failed 2014 GOP congressional candidate. Anedot handles the cash for right-wing organizations, Corn writes, such as “Focus on the Family, the Susan B. Anthony List (a prominent foe of reproductive rights), the Thomas More Society (a conservative Catholic group that supported Trump’s election deniers), the Reformed Theological Seminary (which is ‘committed to the Bible as God’s inerrant Word’), and the International Alliance for Christian Education.”

Likewise, Politico found in December that between 2017 and 2019, No Labels paid more than $563,000 from Targeted Victory for its work as a “revenue processor.” That company’s chief executive, Zac Moffatt, in a commentary in RealClearPolitics in December, described it as “the largest center-right digital advocacy firm in America that activates grass-roots supporters for campaigns and corporations.”

No wonder some prominent allies of No Labels in the past, including New York Times columnist David Brooks and Brookings Institution policy scholar William Galston, have called foul and withdrawn their support. We are left to ponder: Would No Labels be doing anything differently if it were a front group for Republicans out to sink Biden?

Dear Dog! The twitter insanity continues.

Here's egotistical shitwad Elon Musk demonstrating approximately the social consciousness of a starving tapeworm by casually declaring that Americans without children should not have the right to vote.

Because, you know, that's just how democracy works!

Dog damn, this guy is seriously (a) an idiot and (b) fucking nuts. Seems having an absurd amount of money really is failure insulation for white males. Yuck.

Stay safe.
