DeSantis, You Magnificent Bastard!

I read your book!

From the Washington Post:

How DeSantis accidentally handed Disney a potent weapon against him

When the Walt Disney Co. went looking for evidence to feature in its new lawsuit against Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, its lawyers found much of what they needed in DeSantis’s own recently published memoir.

Buried in Disney’s complaint against DeSantis is something surprising. Numerous quotes taken from “The Courage to be Free” appear to support the company’s central allegation: that the Republican governor improperly wielded state power to punish Disney’s speech criticizing his policies, violating the First Amendment...

Dollar Store Goebbels about to get walloped upside the head with his own book by an army of lawyers for the Happiest Place On Earth.

I'll take it!

Good morning DG and BG!

Disney isn't "the good guys." In this instance, they are the "less bad guys."

Like you - I'll take that.

From the WaPo article:

>>> All of this shows how hollow these right-wing theatrical exercises have become. When you start with the thrills you hope to inspire in the Fox News audience and build policy around that, the results tend to collapse once the lack of a real policy rationale becomes widely understood. If quotes from DeSantis’s own memoir lead to another such implosion, it would represent a spectacular and richly deserved form of political justice.

The question is: will a majority at best, and a plurality at worst, of Americans grasp the shallow worthlessness of RWNJ culture-war theatrics? The Foxies will keep on being Foxies, that's an established value at this point. What about the rest of us?

Readers of liberal blog sites are committed and dedicated. By ourselves, we aren't enough. Bitter as it is, that's mathematical fact.

I maintain hope and resolve. I'm no believer in the supernatural, but this is a case for faith - and action.

Thanks for all you do.

I think it's touching that some people read DeSantis' auto-epic and actually came away with something useful: evidence of wrongdoing.

Why does Ronny Desantos get all the credit and publicity for all his deeds.

There is none of it that could happen without his republican state house majority.

None of it and the State house GOP majority, Not even a parrot cracker.

DeSantis is finished. I wonder who is the next RNC approved/non-Trump Republican candidate. Also, what kind of a candidate would it take for our Never Trump allies to abandon the Democrats (which has always been their plan) and return to their Republican home?

DeSantis thinks he'll just invoke the Trump Defense: If you just admit it openly, it somehow doesn't count.

I don't know whether that will work in a courtroom, but it might; it certainly works on our six- and seven-figure media stars.

Thanks for a morning laugh. A wonderful setup and punch line, as I see it anyway. I could hear the the vocals of George C Scott as I eyed the visuals and read the lines.

It's getting pretty hard to find a laugh these days.

Anyway, thanks for a laugh.
