"It is a truism that almost any sect, cult, or religion will legislate its creed into law if it acquires the political power to do so." -- Robert Heinlein

Just listened to your latest podcast. Refreshing as always.
I was reminded of the "endeavor to persevere" monologue from the movie The Outlaw Josey Wales; it has one of the all-time great punchlines.
There have been times when endeavoring to persevere seemed like a tall order, so I try not to take it for granted.
When I was in High School, we held a student strike to get the dean of students fired after he took to surveilling the students' activities off campus, searching cars and lockers, and a host of other coppish stuff that violated our rights and compromised our education.
He had been hired from a southern California school specifically because parents were freaking out over rumors that students at Eureka High, that is, the largest High School in Humboldt County California, were smoking marijuana.
In the late seventies.
Yes, our strike was successful, and Ross P. Moore was fired.
Assuming that Liz Cheney isn't entirely dim, I find it fascinating to watch her trade her Republican congressional career for a piece of history and a shot at the presidency.
So as soon as the committee is done with its work, she must be stopped.
Thank you again for the podcast. Zsuzs is down in the East Bay getting her blood pressure looked after and her truck repaired, so it's just us and the cat and the hopes that this mini heat wave doesn't start any fires that we no longer have a car to evacuate away from in.

yo, for what it's worth, i listen from korea regularly, think you guys are great, you don't tell me things i don't know but that's only because it's all out in the open, your value is in saying what we know with humanity and humor. that is real value. gotta believe it's worth doing, keep it up.
Pardon me,
How many people think the J6 committee findings to resolve most of that insurrection from occurring again in legislation. That any GOP senator will support it?
The Committee findings can assist Georgia indicting of Trump interference and Dept of Justice if AG Garland can do it.
"I can shoot someone on 5th avenue in broad daylight and have no accountability for it" DH Trump.
2 impeachments of his criminal actions and GOP acquits him.
That is a GOP freedom I do not have.
