...is in reverse order.
If you have to listen to them at all.
Which you really, really don't.
But these days I'll take my laughs where I can find them.
Anyway, if you were to listen to the most recent batch last-segment-first here is the sort of thing that you would learn.
See?1. Republican elected officials are nihilistic monsters who do not give the tiniest shit how grotesque or lethal or just aggressively stupid their policies are. But they can keep moving from atrocity to atrocity with no blowback because...
2. Of the party base. Republican elected officials are entirely dependent on the good opinion of a voting base which is not only openly contemptuous of democracy, but is even more aggressively stupid, more loudly racist and more gleefully destructive than their elected representatives. However...
3. There may be a tiny sliver of that base -- a fraction of a fraction -- who still share the common Republican traits of incipient fascism, xenophobia, paranoia and sadism but who might occasionally and grudgingly be persuaded not to vote straight party ticket if, perchance, one of their party's many atrocities has recently hurt them personally and deeply. So...
4. Since elections are such close run things, this tiny, theoretical sliver of nihilistic sociopath Republicans who might, might, might not vote Republican if a Republican had just killed their mama is the single most important group of voters in America. Which means...
5. That if Democrats are really serious about saving America from extinction (at the hands of the party we created) they need to immediately jettison all that crazy shit that Democratic voters want, put a muzzle on AOC and her crew, and instead focus entirely on wooing this tiny, theoretical sliver of the GOP base who maybe, maybe, maybe could then be sweet-talked into vote for the Not Fascist party. Oh and by the way...
6. None of this is reciprocal. So don't ask any of us to stop shitting on the Left for one second, or ask them "pretty please" for a fucking thing. In this fight to save our democracy from the monster we created, it is our privilege to dictate terms and it is their obligation to comply without complaint.

WHY won't the Democrats court the never Trumpers? There's got to be, gosh, a couple of dozen of them... Surely that's enough to win every election everywhere from now until the end of time.

Nicely done.
Yeah, it's the compromise problem:
We say 2 + 2 = 4
They say 2 + 2 = 5
'Neutral' folk say "why don't you both just compromise on 2 + 2 = 4½?"
So you think if the GOP general election voters, voted in the primaries. It would be different outcome?
Exhibit one in my case,
Whom ever the GOP base elects in the GOP primaries are the same GOP candidates the general election voters cast their votes to.
As with Jim Hones, the base drank his Kool Aid and so did the general Jim Jones believing member drink up as well?
I have been listening to the Bulwark podcast for a while. They've been "bothsidering" things the whole time, which was to be expected. However, I was waiting for exactly what would push them completely back to their conservative roots. The end of their horrible foreign policy and forever war in Afghanistan is what did it. They screwed the pooch for 20 years but are certain the region was "this close," to finally turning the corner. They are incapable of admitting their own failures.
