Hi Bluegal, It sounds like if you could fix just one thing about American elections you'd stop Russian "meddling"...

You still have last week's puppies up on the website, and if I remember correctly you still have a couple of cats that my friend Sara in Alabama sent and I forwarded to you. She's an excellent cat picture resource.

We both got the J&J shot yesterday, and so far, so good. I did all of my usual exercises and walked up to the pond and back and still feel OK... Also, while I was at the pond, I found out that Otto and his girlfriend have goslings.

It seemed like folks in town (Oakhurst) have acclimated to the new covid rules; I didn't see anyone without a mask inside, although there were some with the damn thing below their noses, but everyone (except me) was taking them off outside. I'm 60, disabled, and only have fourteen days until the vaccine takes full effect, so this doesn't seem like the time to fuck off the precautions. I can make it for two more weeks.

I agree about the impact even small financial stress relief has upon folks like us who don't have much... My SSDI payment arrived two days early so I can pay the rent and the PG&E bill on the first instead of the third. Which doesn't make much difference to Zsuzs or PG&E but it does to me. And as for the covid money, that helped is immeasurably and we won't soon forget about it.

The Republicans do seem to be putting who and what they are on full display these days... Kinematic Artifact Detectors? Really? Maybe after that they can run them through the retroencabulator and scan them for spectral evidence.

Thank you again for the podcast, and may all of life's little milestones bring you happiness and good stories to tell future generations...

OK, I hit CTRL instead of shift and disappeared the comment I was almost finished with, and upon retyping it I left out the part about Medicare, and that's important enough to go back for a do-over.

65? Hell, I got Medicare when I was 47 and had a stroke. Wow, that's been thirteen years now, as of Earth Day. Medicare makes everything easier. Need cataract surgery? We'll get you on the expedited list even though Medicare only pays 80%...
Some of that was Highland Hospital, though, and I miss the hell out of them and can only imagine the kind of hell they have been going through for the past year.
Speaking of Highland, there's a movie called "The Waiting Room" that's on YouTube now, and it was made by Peter Nicks, who is married to my speech Pathologist, Vanna. He made it in the wake of the passage of the ACA with the encouragement of the Obama administration to tell the story of Highland Hospital, which is the county hospital and as one doctor in the movie put it "The resource of the last resort." It tells the story in real terms of real patients and what they have to go through to get healthcare in Oakland, and makes a good case for not using the ER as primary care. They are as good as anyone ever gets at trauma from gunshots, and it shows how whenever the call comes in for an arriving gunshot trauma, a dozen people drop whatever they are doing and attend to it.
Which just makes the wait in the main waiting area even longer for the folks there to get medical attention. If you get a chance, check it out, those folks are fucking heroes.

That time reality continuum relativity thingy.
