I don't think that I'd have much use for a "Fox-of-the-Left" either, but I (or you) don't belong to the set of humans who are the problem we face with media consumption, and my specific preferences over video content should not be used to decide how we fix the damn thing.
Polls have been getting steadily less useful ever since the popularization of the mobile phone, but perhaps Facebook has actually killed them. I used to say "Well, I've never been asked to participate in one, but in 2020 I was asked to participate in three. And by that, I mean I was called on my phone and asked, internet surveys are by their nature, worse than useless.
So when I read that Warnock and Ossoff were polling ahead of the goddamn Republicans I was like "And you believe that? Why, exactly?"
I do understand that the idea of polling can't just be abandoned, the data produced is used to do too many important things, but god damn it people, can you please try to stop making the same mistake over and over and over again? At least find a new and creative way to bugger our chances at winning... Or you know, maybe just don't.
Now that Republican brain wizard Louie Gohmert is calling for violence in the streets because his "lawsuit" got rejected.
OK, two things about that: First, standing isn't a technicality, standing is everything.
It's what any lawsuit is based upon, you got no standing, you got no lawsuit.
Second, I would advise caution about any right wing calls for violence, as the actual events may not play out to the scripts they have of them in their heads. Those scripts are, much like the propaganda they are based on, riddled with false assumptions and factual errors.
Thank you again for the podcast. The cat brought another mouse in and promptly lost the damn thing, and that was day before yesterday, so I guess there are four of us in this room now. The apocalypse money came through yesterday, but it turns out that Briana got a speeding ticket on her trip to Humboldt County and back last month, so there goes half of it. I'm really not complaining about it only being $600, though, as that has always been and remains a lot of money to me.
